| SDCC 2011: Andrew Niccol’s ‘In Time’ Panel; Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried Show Time Is Literally Money |

Almost a year ago, we were beginning to hear about a new science fiction thriller called I’m.mortal, which was putting together a cast that included Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, and Cillian Murphy. The movie certainly sounded interesting, and thanks to this year’s San Diego Comic–Con, we now know it looks pretty darn interesting, as well!
The movie, whose title has since been changed to In Time, is set in a future where we’ve perfected everlasting life and everyone stops aging at the age of 25, but in order to protect from overpopulation, time is now used in lieu of money as a currency. This leaves the rich to live as long as they’d like, and the less–fortunate fighting to keep living. Everyone is genetically engineered to die one year after turning 25, so if you’re unable to replenish your time, you will not last long. Keep reading for more and to see some images from the panel!

| Movie Review: Red Riding Hood |

By Comtesse de Bussy
Red Riding Hood
Directed by Catherine Hardwicke
Starring Amanda Seyfried, Michael Shanks, Gary Oldman
Release date: March 11, 2011 It seems that updating classics and age-old stories has become something of a fad. Only a few years ago the film Brothers Grimm was released, and three more films, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Brothers Grimm: Snow White, are in the works. Not to mention all of the Disney cartoons that transform the original, often dark material into a colorful, sugar-coated, happy-ending cartoon with music whose soundtracks will sell hundreds of copies. Such movies rarely retain the core of the story they tell, and instead become an excuse for an entirely different kind of tale, one that takes away from the screenwriters the necessity of coming up with an entirely original plot, characters, and setting. This seems to be the case with Red Riding Hood, a film in which the story of a young girl and a wolf are used as an excuse to create a Twilight-esque tale in which a beautiful young woman must choose between two men. And the real shame is that this could have been a good movie, but instead got stuck with a terrible plot and an atrociously ridiculous setting.

| ‘Inception’ Star Cillian Murphy Joins Amanda Seyfried, Justin Timberlake In ‘I’m.mortal’
The trades are reporting that Inception and Batman Begins star Cillian Murphy is in the final stages of negotiation to take on a role in New Regency and 20th Century Fox’s new science fiction drama, I’m.mortal. Murphy will be joining Alpha Dog co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake (also working out an agreement) on the title. The movie is set in a future where we’ve figured out how to combat aging and live forever, but to control the world from a suffocating over-population crisis, time has been turned into currency. This allows the rich to live as long as they want to, and the poor to figure out a way to keep living or die off trying.

| The Not-So-Must-Watch Teaser Trailer For ‘Marmaduke’ Is Here |
 |

Not too long ago, we discovered that the long-running comic strip Marmaduke was one of many old comics, toys, and other similar titles being turned into feature films. Apparently they were already hard at work on the film, as we now have a brand new teaser trailer for the flick to watch…if you so dare. Fans of the comic strip and kids alike may find themselves enjoying a film like this much like with Alvin and the Chipmunks and their new sequel Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. For me personally — and most of our readers, I assume — this isn’t going to be at the tippy-top of your movie viewing wish list for 2010. The teaser trailer is short and consists of a little voice over action from the giant dog we know as Marmaduke (Owen Wilson), as well as a transition from Phantom Planet’s “California” to 2Pac and Dr. Dre’s “California Love,” if you’re into that sorta madness. Head on over to the other side to check out the trailer.

| New ‘Jennifer’s Body’ Featurette Gives Us A Closer Peek At Megan Fox’s Demon |
 |
A brand new “On-Set” featurette for Jennifer’s Body has been released by 20th Century Fox. The video gives us a little bit of a better look at the Diablo Cody (Juno) penned movie and what it’s about, as well as brief clips of director Karyn Kusama (Æon Flux, Girlfight) and stars Megan Fox (Transformers, Jonah Hex) and Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Alpha Dog) talking about their parts in the project.
The story follows a popular high school cheerleader (Fox) who becomes possessed with a demon after an attempt to use her as a sacrifice goes awry. After the demon takes over her body, she begins to seduce the boys of her high school (with ease), and when they’re close enough, she feeds on them. Her best friend since childhood (Seyfried) happens to be more on the nerdy side of the clique fence, and finds herself in a position where she needs to stop Jennifer’s carnage-ridden path of death and devouring. Click on over to the other side check out the feature which was released via Yahoo! Movies.
