| ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: Andy Serkis Confirmed As Voice In Teaser Trailer
Last week, the Internet exploded like a last TIE Fighter upon the release of the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In our analysis of this first footage, we asked (as did the entire universe) who was narrating the trailer. It sounded a lot like Benedict Cumberbatch, who is not part of the cast of the film, but it was more likely to be Andy Serkis, who is a confirmed castmember, although we still don’t know what The Hobbit actor’s role is within the Star Wars universe. Today, the morning TV news program Good Morning America stated that they’ve confirmed that the narration in the trailer is actually Andy Serkis, although they did not reveal their sources (several websites have also confirmed with their own unnamed sources). Furthermore, the site Jedi News has some details on what Serkis will be doing in the new film.

| ‘Jungle Book: Origins’ Adds Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, and More
First it was announced that Benedict Cumberbatch would be playing the role of Shere Khan in Warner Brothers’ adaptation of The Jungle Book, titled Jungle Book: Origins, being directed by Lord of the Rings star Andy Serkis. But instead of waiting a bit to announce the next single actor joining the movie, it was decided to go ahead and announce the rest of the cast all at once. Joining Cumberbatch is Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Naomie Harris, Tom Hollander, Eddie Marsan, Rohan Chand, and Peter Mullan.

| Andy Serkis’s ‘Jungle Book’ Adds Benedict Cumberbatch
Now that Disney and director Jon Favreau’s upcoming live-action/CG hybrid take on The Jungle Book has put together a pretty impressive cast, Warner Brothers and director Andy Serkis have started to cast their competing take on the Rudyard Kipling tale, which is titled Jungle Book: Origins. Much like Disney’s first announcement was that Idris Elba would be playing the tiger villain Shere Khan, WB’s first official casting announcement is that Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing Khan in their version.

The movie will be released next month on July 11th, and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judy Greer, Enrique Murciano, and Kirk Acevedo.
