Pixar's Soul

Well folks, we made it through the crazy year that was 2020. Everything is different, but thankfully we still had movies to give us a few distractions and some much-needed laughs at time. But even that was different, we spent less time in a dark theater with a crowd of folks, replacing that experience with our TVs and sound systems at home with numerous streaming services to offer up movies to entertain us. I think I usually average around 70 new movies a year, but sadly this year it was only 42, and that includes even older movies I saw for the first time. And the back catalog of stuff on the various streaming services, I missed out on a bunch of movies too.

And as you can see from the title, we are doing things a little different as well. I had my list down to 11 movies and even after about a week of trying to narrow it down, I couldn’t, so you are getting 10 (+1) this year.

Okay, Bad Boys For Life, the long overdue capper to the Bad Boys trilogy will finally be arriving early next year, and Sony Pictures Entertainment has just released the first trailer.

The film reunites Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in a film about two reckless cops. While Michael Bay helmed the first two, the director is sitting this one out, leaving Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to fill the Bayhem void. And judging by the looks of this trailer, there are plenty of expensive cars, Smith and Lawrence banter, slow-motion gun shooting, and goofy dialogue. Check out the trailer below.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Confirm Bad Boys 3

We’ve been hearing about a possible Bad Boys 3 for a long time now. At one point, Sony even set release dates for third and fourth installments in the action franchise. But for various reasons, it hasn’t been able to find life.

Now they’re ready to give it another shot. And while it’s hard to get excited for any fan of the series who’s been waiting so long for Bad Boys 3 to happen, this time it’s a little different. Instead of the occasional news update hinting at the possibility of a sequel, this time there’s star power behind it. The pair met up today to record a short video sharing the news, which you can watch below.

Bad Boys II

It was recently revealed that The Grey and Smokin’ Aces director Joe Carnahan will be making a re-imagining of the hit Indonesian action flick The Raid with Frank Grillo starring. This in addition to working on the screenplays for both X-Force and the Uncharted video game movie.

All of these projects led many to wonder when Carnahan would get to Bad Boys 3, also known as Bad Boys for Life, which he has been attached to since June of 2015. We now have an answer to this question. Carnahan has walked away from the long in development trilogy-maker, leaving Sony to find a new director.
