You know what’s missing in your life right now? A Christmas special in which Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day star Bill Murray sings classic carols to you. Obviously! Murray revealed to Variety his intentions to star in the special, which will see him reuniting with his Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola. A movie that scored her an Academy Award for Best Writing, and both Murray and Coppola Oscar nominations for Best Actor and Best Director respectively. | Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Officially A Go; Paul Feig To Direct, ‘The Heat’ Writer Will Pen Script
After waiting years for Ghostbusters 3 to happen, news broke today that we will be finally getting it. Just not the one you’d might expect to see. Bill Murray had expressed interest in seeing the franchise go through a reboot with an all female cast, and that of course sparked talks amongst fans. Though we do not know who will be casting, Paul Feig confirmed that he will be directing the film, and that The Heat writer Katie Dippold will pen the script. Dan Aykroyd has repeatedly kept Ghostbusters 3 hopes alive, but with Murray uninterested in the project and the passing of Harold Ramis, any hopes of bringing the crew back together were slim. So seeing Feig taking the reins for a whole new film could be fun, and the idea that this will be an all female cast is refreshing. Hit the jump for more.

One of the quintessential films that my friends and I grew up watching, re-watching, and quoting was Ghostbusters, Ivan Reitman‘s comedy of bungling scientists and real-life spooks in NYC. | Bill Murray Is Baloo In Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’
One of the last major castings left to be announced for Disney’s upcoming live-action/CG-animated hybrid retelling of The Jungle Book has finally been revealed. It’s being reported that none other than Bill Murray will take on the role of Baloo, the lovable bear and friend to the man-cub Mowgli.
