| Watch: ‘Star Wars’ Celebration Tribute To The Late Carrie Fisher
The passing of Carrie Fisher was a profound loss. Sure she was Princess Leia to all of us, but she was also a director, a screenwriter, and an inspiration to those who are going through personal struggles. So it makes it that much more harder to come to grips with as Star Wars Celebration is being held without her. But to honor her memory, the convention released a very emotional tribute that compiles footage from on the set, interviews, and co-stars talking about what it was like to be with her. | In Memoriam 2016: Remembering Those We Lost In Entertainment |

In Memoriam 2016: Film, Television, Music, Sports, Literature, the Arts”¦ With 2017 upon us, let’s take one final look back at the luminaries and personalities of the entertainment world who left us in 2016, during a year that seemed more turbulent and taxing than any other in recent memory. Challenges in the past and challenges ahead, it’s a tough time to live in the world right now with so many changes like a whirling dervish to the senses. While there is much sadness in recognizing and accepting the passing of so many great figures in 2016, it’s the endearing, endless, never-ending fanbase and legacy that will keep each and every one of these names mentioned here (and some are of only cult status, but still enjoy a rabid passionate following as equal as any global figure) alive and well in the consciousness and beyond. | ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ and ‘Episode IX’ Directors, Lucasfilm To Discuss Princess Leia’s Future
The tragic passing of Carrie Fisher hit everyone pretty hard last week. Not only was she a major figure of the Star Wars universe, she was also a writer and someone who was able to overcome the darkest parts of her life to become an inspiration. It’s insensitive to talk about what will happen to her Princess Leia character (she will always be royalty) now that she is gone, but here we are. There is a new report that says she was to have a larger role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII and Episode IX. Rian Johnson (director of Episode VIII) and Colin Trevorrow (director of Episode IX) are set to discuss how Leia will fit into the future of the franchise with Lucasfilm in the coming weeks. Check out the full report below.
