| Must See: How Showtime’s ‘Kidding’ Pulled Off Incredible One-Shot Scene (Video) |
|
When it comes to one-shot takes on television, it’s hard to top that famous scene from HBO’s True Detective. But the new Showtime series Kidding, which was just given a season two, delivered an impressive one recently that really has to be seen if you haven’t already. The scene shows a woman (played by Riki Lindhome) transforming her life over an extended period of time after being inspired by the show within Kidding, “Mr. Pickles’ Puppet Time,” which is hosted by star Jim Carrey. The shot, which runs a little under two minutes, all takes place in a small apartment with the camera panning around as we see her life changing. It’s awesome to see on its own, but becomes truly incredible when you see how they pulled it off. As the camera pans the room the crew quickly moves in behind it to change the set, while actors move in and out including Lindhome, who also has multiple wardrobe changes to pull off while making her way to each next shot she’s in. You can see how it went in the video below, which shows the scene next to the cast and crew pulling it off.

Directed by Stefano Sollima
Written by Tyler Sheridan
Starring: Josh Brolin, Benecio Del Toro, Isabela Moner, Catherine Keener, Matthew Modine, Elijah Rodriguez, Jeffrey Donovan
Theatrical Release Date: June 29, 2018 “Adios,” a hitman ruthlessly tells a helpless man on the ground just before he’s about to unload a ton of shells into him. But before this, the hitman tells the man to put on his glasses so he can see who’s going to kill him. And this is the core of the Sicario films, wanting us to see clearly the violence encompassing us. The enticing trait that the Sicario films (the first film was in 2015) maintain is their menacing sense of dread and impending doom that looms over them. Steady by steady the films tighten, introducing new dangers that squash previous ones, immediately fascinating its viewers with chaos and acquainting them with a sliver of hell while analyzing the War on Drugs.

Release Date: June 15, 2018 The Incredibles is that perfect blend of fun and nostalgia. It’s that call back to a time where things were much simpler, but there was still a world that needed saving. There was no social media. Fun actually consisted of going outside and getting fresh air. And yet, the themes explored in that film still felt very relevant to the time of its release. Insecurities, loss, family. Everything about it was signature Pixar. Those poignant themes mixed in with a whole lot of fun. And who doesn’t love a good superhero movie? Flash forward 14 years later. Superhero movies are now all too common. There are those who are worried about superhero fatigue. Some even roll their eyes at the fact that another is released or are shocked that there is a sequel. But not so much with Incredibles 2. It’s the sequel everyone is waiting for. The entire cast is back for this animated feature and with Brad Bird at the director’s helm for a sequel that proves good things come to those who wait. Check out my full review here below.
