| SDCC 2014: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Panel
Mad Max, the Australian 1979 cult film which became one of the most original, dystopian, and riveting action pictures of all time, spawning a franchise and making its original titualar character Mel Gibson a superstar, is being rebooted. Hall H in today’s Warner Brothers panel proceedings gave the details of Mad Max: Fury Road at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con in sunny San Diego, California. Moderated by the witty Chris Hardwick and showcasing one George Miller, who directed not only the original film but is also handling the reboot from the directorial chair, there was a wonderful poignancy to their chat, especially when Miller let slip that this was his very first Comic-Con appearance. Miller himself gave us a backstory on the original film and that he was spellbound that he was actually making a new version of the franchise in 2014.

| Warner Brothers Unveils First ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Teaser Poster
A loner dressed in dusty black leather, his rusted hulk of a badass automotive war machine, and the assembled forces of wasteland evil looming in the distance…what more could you possibly require of a first poster for next year’s Mad Max: Fury Road? The fourth film in Australian filmmaker George Miller‘s imaginative, highly influential post-apocalyptic action franchise has been in the works since the days when original star Mel Gibson was still a viable screen leading man without a hint of scandal about him. Now that British star-on-the-rise Tom Hardy has replaced Gibson in the iconic role of monosyllabic wanderer Max Rockatansky, Fury Road is finally rolling at full speed and looks to have a huge presence at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con. Ahead of the Con Warner Brothers has released the first poster for Fury Road, which shows little but promises much. You can check the poster out here below.

| Frank Darabont In Talks For ‘Snow White and The Huntsman 2’
Recently we found out that Frank Darabont was on the shortlist of potential directors for Snow White and the Huntsman 2, the follow-up to 2012’s re-imagining of the fairy tale that starred Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron, and was directed by Rupert Sanders. The news that Darabont was a candidate seemed odd. Why would the director of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, and the TV series creator of AMC’s The Walking Dead, be interested in making not only a sequel to a movie he wasn’t involved in, but a sequel to a movie that also received mediocre critical response (48% on Rotten Tomatoes, 6.2/10 on IMDB)? But it appears that the interest is real and something about the project has appealed to Darabont, as it is now being reported that he’s officially in talks to direct Snow White and the Huntsman 2.
