| Ben Mendelsohn Circling Role In ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’
Felicity Jones was the first to be announced to have a role in Star Wars: Rogue One by Disney CEO Bob Iger a few weeks back. While we did learn what the title of the film was going to be and who would lead, details as to what the story could be about remain a secret. Many have speculated that it could have something to do with the Rebel Alliance’s elite X-Wing pilots, the Rogue Squadron. Before that there were rumors of it having to do with the Rebel Alliance hiring bounty hunters to steal plans to the Death Star. Today we are no closer to finding out what the film will be about. However, we know that a new actor is in talks to have a role. Ben Mendelsohn (The Place Beyond The Pines, Netflix’s Bloodline) is reportedly circling an unknown role in the film. | Alexandre Desplat To Compose ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ Score
Gareth Edwards will be reuniting with his Godzilla composer, Alexandre Desplat, for the newly titled Star Wars: Rogue One. It was thought that Star Wars composing alum John Williams would be the one who would conduct the score, but a new details reveal that that isn’t the case. The plot of the franchise’s first spinoff film is still unknown, but based on the title alone, many speculate it would have to do with the Rebel Alliance’s elite X-Wing pilots, the Rogue Squadron. | Felicity Jones In Talks For ‘Star Wars’ Standalone Movie
Felicity Jones, the actress who was just recently nominated for an Oscar for her work in The Theory of Everything, has entered into negotiations to star in the first Star Wars standalone movie. Who the actress might play is currently not being shared yet, as no one knows what this first non-numbered Star Wars entry will be about. There have been rumors the movie could be about a group of bounty hunters trying to steal the blueprints for the Death Star, but nothing is confirmed.

| Mark Romanek No Longer Directing Disney’s Live-Action ‘Cinderella’
Last fall Disney’s live-action adaptation of Cinderella added some major star power in the form of Cate Blanchett. The Oscar-winning star would be playing the evil stepmother in the new film written by Chris Weitz and Aleen Brosh McKenna, and directed by Mark Romanek. Saoirse Ronan and other high-profiled young actresses are currently in the running for the lead role. However, there is a slight delay now that Romanek is out as director. According to sources, the director was let go because his dark vision didn’t fit with Disney’s fairy tale formula.
