Emily VanCamp

Captain America: Civil War is starting to look like Avengers 2.5. The cast is stacked with various Marvel Cinematic Universe alums ranging from those introduced in Phase 1 like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan, to those introduced in Phase 2 like Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, and Elizabeth Olsen. Chadwick Boseman joins the cast as Black Panther, with Daniel Brühl playing Baron Zemo, and Martin Freeman as an unidentified character. Spider-Man will also make his debut, but has yet to be cast.

Now a new report says that Emily VanCamp will also be in the film. She will reprise her role as Agent 13 aka Sharon Carter the niece of Peggy Carter – although Captain America has yet to discover her lineage.

Since this is Civil War, and VanCamp’s return confirms Agent 13 has a role in the film, does this mean what we think it means? More below.

Martin Freeman

Marvel Studios has always had a tendency to make surprising castings. From Robert Redford to James Spader, whatever they seem to be doing, they are getting the right actor you would least expect to see in a Marvel film. Today happens to be one of those days.

The studio announced via their website that Martin Freeman (Sherlock, The Hobbit) will be joining the cast of Captain America: Civil War. No word yet on who he could play, but click below for what Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had to say about the casting.

Daniel Bruhl

Shorty after Marvel Studios announced their film slate until 2019, Inglourious Basterds star Daniel Bruhl joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War. At the time the role was unknown, but given that it was a Captain America film, the chances of it being Baron Zemo were pretty high. Then came the rumors that Bruhl would be playing Baron Mordo, a Dr. Strange villain. If true, how that connection would work wasn’t exactly clear, but we all know Marvel has these things planned out well in advanced.

But a leaked casting call confirms that Bruhl will be in fact playing as Zemo. Hit the jump for more.

Movie Review: Rush Poster

Rush
Director: Ron Howard
Screenwriter: Peter Morgan
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Brühl, Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara, Pierfrancesco Favino
Universal Pictures
Rated PG-13 | 122 Minutes
Release Date: September 27, 2013

Academy Award winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon) reunites with writer Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen), on Rush, a film about the ’70s rivalry between Formula One drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

Rush stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor, The Avengers) as English playboy James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) as Niki Lauda, a methodical Austrian racing driver and brilliant mechanic.

Ron Howard has made some great films: Apollo 13, Willow, A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon, and, of course, 1982’s Night Shift. He’s made a lot of disappointing, forgettable films too: The Dilemma, Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Edtv – just to name a few. Rush is somewhere in-between, a gorgeous looking film by cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle (Dredd, Slumdog Millionaire) with two fantastic performances, but a script that is labored, cliché, and – dare I say it – slightly misogynistic.
