| James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ Adds Peter Capaldi and Pete Davidson To Its Roster
James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting DC Extended Universe films. The film will bring back some original characters like Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as squad leader Rick Flag, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. And, of course, there are the newcomers to the cast like Idris Elba, who is playing a role that has yet to be named. But he isn’t the only one new to the cast. Reports say that Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi and Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson will be a part of the soft reboot. More on the report below.

| Taika Waititi Joining James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’
Actors jumping between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe isn’t anything out of the ordinary. In fact, it happens at the creative level as well, with James Gunn being one of the most recent directors to helm titles in both universes. Now, another filmmaker and actor has joined him, but just for a starring role. Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is said to be joining the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy director Gunn’s DC project The Suicide Squad, where he will appear alongside the likes of returning stars from the first movie such as Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, and Viola Davis. | Ben Affleck’s Standalone ‘Batman’ Movie Would Have Explored Arkham Asylum
Arkham Asylum has been fixture within the Batman lore. It serves as the one jail exclusive to Batman villains. And though fans haven’t seen much of it in any of the recent DCEU films, it would have served as the main setting for Ben Affleck‘s standalone Batman film: you know, the one DCEU film that he was supposed to direct that never came to be.
