Yep, you read that correctly. Two forces residing within the Walt Disney Company entertainment juggernaut are about to collide.

It’s being reported that Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios who has overseen the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe, is now developing a new Star Wars movie with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. In addition to developing the feature, Feige will also produce.

Walt Disney Studios continues to go through its vault to turn their animated classics into live-action films. Their latest is Aladdin. Based on the 1992 animated film of the same name, this live-action take is directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his penchant for fun and stylized action sequences and a cast of wonderful characters to his first family-friendly film. The updated film dazzles thanks in part to its cast, consisting of Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, and Will Smith, and its new take on some favorite songs.

Now, Disney’s hit film has its own release, along with some of the bonus features that detail the making of this live-action remake.

After Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, Star Wars creator George Lucas thought that the studio would be using some of his drafts and stories to develop a brand new trilogy. However, a new memoir by Disney CEO Bob Iger tells us otherwise. Despite the fact that Lucas stayed on as a creative consultant, Disney went in an entirely different direction with the Star Wars franchise and moved forward with Star Wars: The Force Awakens from writer and director J.J. Abrams and co-writers Michael Arndt and Lawrence Kasdan.

Now excerpts from said memoir reveal how unhappy Lucas was with that decision. More on this below.

Just when you thought Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) found their happily ever after, the two sisters, along with with their friends, Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Olaf (Josh Gad), as well as the rest of the kingdom of Arendell are forced to flee after their queen loses control of her powers. Frozen 2 will see the group embark on a quest into a mythical forest where they will discover the answers to why Elsa has her powers. Disney’s The Lion King (2019), Jon Favreau‘s reimagining of the animated feature of the same name, may not have been met with the same unanimous praise its animated counterpart received, but it was a hit, grossing over a billion dollars worldwide. Now the film, which features cutting-edge technology to turn the once-animated animals into photorealistic ones, is getting a home entertainment release.

Featuring hours of bonus features that showcase the cutting-edge technology behind the stunning savanna and a special look at the music of The Lion King, the film will be available on Digital 4K Ultra HD and Movies Anywhere on October 11, 2019, and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on October 22, 2019.
