Rated PG-13 | 113 Minutes

Live. Die. Repeat.

Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity), Edge of Tomorrow is an ambitious science-fiction film that also serves as an entertaining thesis on electronic gaming and its symbiotic relationship with modern filmmaking.

Based on the novel All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, the film takes place in the near future where an alien race – the Mimics – has invaded the Earth and overtaken most of Western Europe. The Mimics can anticipate and counter our combat strategies with ease, making them unstoppable. To stand a chance against them, we create battle suits – armored exoskeletons reminiscent of the Power Loader from Aliens or the hydraulic battle chassis from The Matrix Trilogy.

Edge of Tomorrow Header Image

A new trailer for Edge of Tomorrow, the futuristic action flick starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, has been released by Warner Brothers. We saw the first trailer released back in December.

In the movie, Cruise plays a man with no combat experience who is thrown into the middle of a war between humans and aliens and is killed almost immediately. But instead of staying dead, he finds himself stuck in a mysterious time loop, replaying the last moments of his life over and over and over again. With each replay he learns and improves his skills and his strategies, allowing him to gradually improve his chances of defeating the alien threat.

You can check out the new trailer for the movie below.

Ubisoft's Splinter Cell

In case you weren’t aware, Ubisoft is on a mission to change the way people look at movies based on video games…which is, generally, quite poorly. They have movies in development based on many of their game franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs, and Splinter Cell.

We first heard about the Splinter Cell project about two years ago now, and later that The Dark Knight Rises and Inception star Tom Hardy was attached to the lead role, Sam Fisher. Now comes word that a director is in sight.

It’s being reported that Doug Liman, who made The Bourne Identity back in 2002, is now in final negotiations to helm Splinter Cell.

‘Edge Of Tomorrow’ Trailer: Tom Cruise Gets To Respawn After He Dies In Battle

Edge Of Tomorrow Trailer Tom Cruise

First person shooters gives players the opportunity to respawn after they have been killed by another player. So it was only a matter of time before that concept was turned into a movie. In Edge Of Tomorrow, the new movie from Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Tom Cruise plays as a soldier with no formal training batting against aliens known as Mimics. The only problem is that he keeps on dying, and then gets revived the next day. Think of it as a intense and gritty version of Groundhog Day, without the humor. Emily Blunt also stars as a fellow soldier who is aware of their precarious situation and helps train Cruise to battle the aliens.

Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for the film, which you can watch below.

The Bourne Legacy

What do you get when you combine the action franchise spawned from the best-selling spy thrillers of the late Robert Ludlum that has become one of the most influential movie series of the past 25 years and the smokin’ funky grooves of late 1970’s disco?

Bourne To Be Alive, that’s what.

This video mashes up scenes from all three of the original Jason Bourne adventures – The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) – and scenes from the trailers for the forthcoming semi-sequel/franchise reboot The Bourne Legacy with the 1979 dance floor classic “Born to Be Alive” by Patrick Hernadez.

You can watch the video here below.
