Star Wars: Battlefront Image

One of the hopes of this year’s E3 convention was that some of the Star Wars video games being developed by the subsidiaries of Electronic Arts, namely Star Wars: Battlefront, would be shown off in greater depth than that very brief teaser we saw last year.

Sadly, this was not to be. But while we didn’t get the previews we wanted, Battlefront was teased again in a much different way. EA opened their press conference with a behind-the-scenes video showing off what’s going into making the game, including visiting the real-world shooting locations of the original Star Wars movies, and some very brief peeks at what the game itself is looking like. It’s not much, but it’s well worth seeing if you’re a Star Wars fan anticipating Battlefront.

You can watch the video below.

Battlefield: Hardline

A recent leak seemed to indicate that the next game in Electronic Arts’ Battlefield franchise would be straying from the realms of military conflict and entering some kind of much smaller cops and robbers territory, to put it simply.

This has now been confirmed with the unveiling of an official website for Battlefield: Hardline. Unlike other entries in the series, however, it sounds as if the newest game will offer its single player campaign in episodic fashion in addition to the expected multiplayer options. It’s said to be somewhat along the same lines as the FX series The Shield as far as the characters and action goes.

Electronic Arts has announced that Bruce Lee will be a playable character in their first UFC game, simply titled EA Sports UFC, and has also released a new trailer for the game including Lee.

You can find out why they chose to include Lee, how they built him (in a game where most of the athletes were scanned in order to achieve the most realistic digital representations possible), how you can gain access to him, and watch the new trailer below.

Visceral Games Logo

Various Star Wars video games are in development at Electronic Arts, who locked up exclusive rights to make games based on the property back in May of last year after Disney decided to close down LucasArts, and its many studios.

Now comes word that one of those games will have a top talent leading it. It’s been announced that Amy Hennig, a writer and creative director on Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series, will lead the development of the Star Wars game being made by Dead Space developer Visceral Games.

Battlefield 4 Story Trailer

EA’s Battlefield and Activision’s Call of Duty franchises are set to go head-to-head once again with the release on Battlefield 4 on October 29th, and Call of Duty: Ghosts on November 5th.

We’ve seen a campaign trailer for Ghosts already, which appears to be attempting to offer a much better story than previous games (supported by their decision to bring in Oscar-winning Traffic screenwriter Steven Gaghan to work on the game). And now comes a story trailer for Battlefield 4, which also looks to be upping the story quality.

You can check out the new trailer below.
