And yes… it is exactly what you might think with Griffin Dunne playing the therapist. He is the anti-Johnny (Denis Leary). He is an incense-burning, shamanistic, meditating, hippie doctor. The band responded with varying levels of hilarity. Gigi tries to work out her daddy issues. Rehab (John Ales) wants some good drugs. Flash (John Corbett) is obsessed with aging. Ava (Elaine Hendricks) rollerskates in booty shorts. Bam Bam (Robert Kelly) writes Drumsong. Johnny is skeptical, but his skepticism feels redeemed when they are dubbed, “The Most F***d Up Band In The History Of Rock-n-Roll.”

Air Date: Sunday August 16th, 2015, 10pm Last week on The Strain, we met newly elevated Kelly Goodweather’s (Natalie Brown) scuttling vampre kids, and nobody could catch or kill them. This stirs up mixed feelings for a few of them: Johnny: Torn between wanting success for himself and Gigi (Liz Gillies). Gigi: Torn between Flash (John Corbett) pushing to kick Johnny out when he inevitable f***s up, and being there for her dad. Flash: Torn between never wanting to play with Johnny again and loads of cash (ok – that dilemma does not last long). The rest? The dilemma is choosing their riders. Johnny totally chokes after sounding amazing, but Gigi steps in and steps up. As we all knew she would, she does not throw her dad out. Their burgeoning relationship is the heart of the show.
