| First U.S. Trailer For Walter Salles’ ‘On The Road’
Although Walter Salles‘ On The Road has been making a few festival rounds, we’ve only seen a couple of trailers from the film. Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, and Kristen Stewart are just some of the headline names that have lead roles in the film, and now we are getting to see them in the first domestic and very brief beatnik trailer for the film. Check it out here below. You may have noticed that the trailer does an excellent job of previewing Jack Kerouac’s travels during the Beat generation. The brief trailer can only be described as sexually raw, full of drug use, and is musically expressive.

| Shortlist Of Actors Who Could Play Finnick Odair In ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
With every sequel comes new character roles that need to be filled, such as that with the upcoming sequel to the adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel Catching Fire, the second book in the successful Hunger Games trilogy. Among the top roles in the sequel, officially titled The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is that of Finnick Odair. I’ll try to describe the character with the least amount of spoilers possible: He is a highly capable athlete brought in to take part in a newly designed game. Since Gary Ross has decided not to come back to direct Catching Fire, Lionsgate has hired Francis Lawrence to direct the sequel, and now he is tasked with recruiting an actor to play the role of Finnick. According to E! Online, the top three names are Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch, and Garrett Hedlund.

TRON Legacy is a film that, for many of us, was a generation in waiting. Many of us who were children of the Eighties were floored with the richness and uniqueness of the original TRON film, sadly now quite dated (visually, though the story still stands up), as it was a statement of the budding tech generation we were becoming a part of. For decades, we waited for the potential of a sequel, and some of us lost all hope. Then in 2008, something exciting happened at San Diego Comic-Con. Disney previewed new “test” footage in a trailer that was somewhat of a “proof-of-concept”. Then called TR2N, the sequel news set the internet on fire – as countless fans of the original movie enjoyed the fever of the news that another chapter was coming out. I’m sure even Tron Guy was amused.

| Warner Brothers Shuts Down Production On Live-Action ‘Akira’ Movie
Warner Brothers has been attempting to bring a live-action adaption of Akira to the big screen for a long while now, with many budgetary complications and cast and crew issues leading to delay after delay…much to the elation of fans who don’t want to see it happen. Lately, however, things appeared to be moving forward, and doing so at a quick pace. Beginning this past October, the movie was officially greenlighted after some budget problems were ironed out and a star was found in Tron: Legacy‘s Garrett Hedlund. Then came word that The Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart might be in line for the role of Kei. Now things have yet again taken a turn for the worst (if you wanted to see this movie happen, of course). It’s being reported that Warner Brothers has shut down production, with one insider saying “everyone is being sent home.”

| ‘Twilight’ Star Kristen Stewart May Be Playing Kei In Live-Action ‘Akira’ Remake
According to Twitch, Kristen Stewart, star of The Twilight Saga and the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman, has been offered the female lead in Warner Brothers’ upcoming live-action remake of hit Japanese manga and animated feature, Akira. In most cases this would be chalked up as nothing more than a rumor, but, unfortunately for those who will weep at such news, Twitch has been the go-to source for breaking Akira news, including first reporting the news that Garrett Hedlund has been offered the lead role of Kaneda and that Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham Carter had also been offered roles.
