In Christopher Nolan‘s 2006 film, The Prestige, Cutter (Michael Caine) explains, “Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts.” “The first part is called The Pledge. The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course… it probably isn’t.” “The second act is called The Turn. The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you’re looking for the secret… but you won’t find it, because of course you’re not really looking. You don’t really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn’t clap yet. Because making something disappear isn’t enough; you have to bring it back.” “That’s why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call The Prestige.” Ladies and gentlemen, that’s The Dark Knight Rises – the third act to an astounding magic trick by a world-class illusionist in director Christopher Nolan.

| ‘House’ Star Hugh Laurie Heads To Jose Padilha’s ‘RoboCop’ Reboot
Earlier this week we reported that Abbie Cornish and Samuel L. Jackson were joining the cast of Jose Padilha‘s Robocop reboot. But the film still lacked a force for Robocop to deal with. That has all changed. Rather than spend time with a vacation after working on eight seasons of the Fox medical drama House, actor Hugh Laurie is quickly getting back to work. And he is doing it in a very big way. Laurie is now signed on to play as the villain of the movie.

| Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish Join Gary Oldman, Joel Kinnaman In ‘RoboCop’ Reboot
Say what you will about remakes and reboots (yes, they’re usually a horrible idea and a classic money-grab technique), but when someone takes the time to put one together, there is always that chance it could be good. It was reported recently that the legendary Samuel L. Jackson had joined the cast, and now Abbie Cornish has been offered a role as well.
