| ‘BioShock’ Movie Killed Off By Video Game Creator Ken Levine
There’s been no talk of the long-rumored BioShock movie for quite some time now, and for good reason…because the anticipated cinematic adaptation has been killed off. The movie was first in the hands of Gore Verbinski, director of the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies and the upcoming Lone Ranger, who had plans to remain faithful to the adult-aimed game with a brutal, R-rated movie take on the story of Andrew Ryan and his dream, the underwater city of Rapture, which began as a government-less utopian heaven and quickly descended into a anarchic dystopian hell.

| Watch Now: Ride For Justice With ‘The Lone Ranger’ In This Super Bowl Spot
Hi-yo Silver! The first TV spot for Walt Disney Pictures’ summer western spectacular The Lone Ranger has premiered during tonight’s Super Bowl and now it is available online for those of us – myself included – who don’t watch football to enjoy. That is a relief.

We previously reported that White Stripes and The Raconteur’s frontman Jack White was set to make his film-composing debut by conducting the score for the film. It seemed like a perfect fit at the time, given White’s musical background. But somewhere in between that announcement and the release of the second trailer, White dropped out. The Playlist discovered the change when they saw Hans Zimmer‘s name attached as the composer instead of White’s. This isn’t the first time that Zimmer has conducted the score for a Verbinski film. Zimmer also conducted the score for all four Pirates of the Caribbean films and Rango has well.
