Sometimes superhero movie merchandise is just as important as the movie itself, and those who enjoy collecting toys or play with them will find it hard not to reach into their wallet to buy a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Baby Groot. I mean, he’s cute and quite deadly; if you don’t believe me, check out the trailer for the upcoming film. As excited as some people are to see new toys, there are those who believe that Baby Groot is nothing more than a marketing ploy to burn another hole in our wallets. Well, director James Gunn is speaking out against that theory, saying that isn’t the case at all. Check out what he had to say here below.

The biggest superhero movie news bit to come out of last weekend was the release of the first trailer for James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. While the sequel is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it doesn’t have an actual connection to the main Marvel heroes considering the cosmic distance between the two.

Now Gunn is elaborating on how his film will remain distant from what is going on in the MCU. And in other Guardians Vol. 2 news, Vin Diesel is doing some extra hyping by addressing a fight possible fight between Hulk and Groot, and a maybe spinoff with Rocket and Groot. Check out more on these stories below.

The response to the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at the San Diego Comic-Con this summer was overwhelmingly positive, and it was easy to see why some may have pestered director James Gunn to release it online. When October came, no one expected to see a snippet of what is to come. That teaser was more of a reintroduction to those familiar a-holes who helped save the galaxy. Now we are getting our first official look at the sequel in the form of a brand new trailer.

Check it out here below.

James Gunn director of Guardians of the Galaxy

A common staple of any film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the Stan Lee cameo. This cameo has led to the popular theory that the Marvel Comics co-creator is, in fact, The Watcher, better known as Uatu, an all-mighty being stationed on Earth to monitor the activities of other species. Though this theory was disproven, we are still going to get to see Lee cameo in MCU films for as long as he is alive. But the guy isn’t getting any younger, and flying from set to set for just a cameo wouldn’t make any sense. So he’s already filmed his cameos for the next four MCU films. But did you know that the man who helped make all of that possible was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn?

More on the story below.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Teaser Header

Well just a few hours after the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 teaser poster, Marvel has released the teaser trailer for the film.

The teaser reintroduces us to some old friends. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), and Drax (Dave Bautista) all appear in the film, as does Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillan). Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) are also in the trailer but hardly speak. While we don’t get to see any of the new characters, we know that the film will have new characters like Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Ego (Kurt Russell), and Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki). Check it out below.
