Iron Man 3 Trailer Header

So after the 18 second teaser and a slew of images involving broken helmets, passionate embraces, and bluetooths, we finally have our first look at the new trailer for Iron Man 3.

Check out here below the first trailer for the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We are finally getting an answer to the question of what happens to our heroes after the events seen in this year’s The Avengers. Apparently things will start off with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) literally hitting rock bottom. As we can see in the trailer, Stark has been deeply affected by the war against Loki and the Chutari, and he seeks to some how save the ones he loves by building some sort of new technology that allows him to consciously summon his armor. But that might not be enough to stop a new and powerful villain called The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley).

Iron Man 3

Earlier today we showed you 18 seconds of the new Iron Man 3 trailer, which debuts tomorrow. The very short trailer was nothing more than just a tease of what’s to come. Now seven new images have appeared online, and they reveal some devastation, patriotism, reflection, heroism, passion, bluetooths, and villainy. Check out the new images below.

The images pretty much speak for themselves. We’ve already seen some teaser photos of the new Mark 47 armor and the Iron Patriot armor earlier this year. But this is the first time we are getting a look at Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin, albeit a shadowy first look. I’m sure we will get a much better look at his face and all the Iron Man 3 action when the trailer hits online tomorrow.

Iron Man Extremis Header

There’s a lot of speculation as to what the plot for Iron Man 3 could be. It is believed that the film could be based on the Extremis storyline, which centers on a technologically based virus that could turn any normal human being into tech-based super soldiers.

No doubt there will be some sort of confirmation when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige takes the Hall H center stage at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month. But before we hear from Feige or get a confirmation of a synopsis, we have a piece of concept art from the movie that may confirm the Extremis storyline. Check it out below.

Iron Man Header

After weeks of non-stop casting announcements and analysis of its possible plot, the Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios film Iron Man 3 has commenced principal photography in Wilmington, NC. We have the first behind-the-scenes image from the production. You can check it out here below.

The film’s plot is reportedly based on “Extremis,” a six-issue story arc from Marvel Comics’ The Invincible Iron Man written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Adi Granov, which would introduce nanotechnology into the character’s ongoing adventures. Shane Black is directing Iron Man 3 from a screenplay he co-wrote with Drew Pearce. Returning to the cast are Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Jon Favreau (a good indication that not much bad blood exists between Favreau, who directed the first two Iron Man films and had originally planned to direct the third and complete his trilogy, and Marvel Studios). New to the cast are Rebecca Hall (Frost/Nixon) and Andy Lau (Infernal Affairs), and playing the heavies of Iron Man 3 are Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, and Ashley Hamilton.

James Badge Dale as Coldblood

Iron Man 3 is scheduled to begin production within a few weeks, but the casting process isn’t quite yet complete. The third installment of the Iron Man franchise as already added Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and Rebecca Hall to the cast, and now comes word that The Pacific star James Badge Dale will be joining them as Eric Savin.

According to Variety, Savin is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army who accidentally steps on a landmine while on a mission. In order to save his life, cybernetic surgery is performed and he becomes Coldblood. Think of it as Marvel’s version of RoboCop. This could mean that Iron Man 3 could be cluttered with three villains instead of two. Pearce would be playing as Aldrich Killain, a man who sells a dangerous technology to villains, and Kingsley would play as the main villain (rumored to be The Mandarin).

Rebecca Hall

Earlier today it was reported that Jessica Chastain had opted not to take on the “sexy scientist” role she was said to be up for in Iron Man 3. Not wasting any time, it looks like director Shane Black and company had another actress on stand by.

According to sources, Rebecca Hall is now in negotiations to play the character Chastain was lined up for. Apart from the brief description indicating that the character would be an attractive scientist type who’s just as smart as Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark character, all that’s known is that this will be a supporting role. Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Pepper Potts character is the movie’s female lead.

MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS #4

With the recent Iron Man 3 casting announcements of Guy Pearce as a villain, Jessica Chastain as a sexy scientist, and Sir Ben Kingsley as another villain, it was thought that they would be joining returning cast members Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Scarlett Johansson.

Now it appears that Johansson and her Black Widow character will not be appearing in the trilogy-maker after all. In an interview with Screen Rant for upcoming Marvel superhero epic, The Avengers, the actress shared that she would not be part of that particular project. But she also made sure to clarify that this might not be the end of her run as the character; Johansson stated that she saw a Bourne Identity-style Black Widow movie in there somewhere that she’d love to do eventually.
