The Geeks Of Doom Round Up is back with our 20th episode. This week, Greg gives us the run-down of the upcoming adaptation of the Stephen King story, Carrie, starring Chloë Grace Moretz, and directed by Kimberly Peirce. Later, Andy brings on some new music from the newly reformed Ben Folds Five that is definitely worth checking out.
Later in the show, we take a look at the latest info and news surrounding the upcoming 2013 Evil Dead remake, including the first official image release, and details unveiled at NYCC 2012. We also take a glance at the new Halo 4 trailer, produced by David Fincher and directed by Tim Miller.
The first live-action trailer for the Halo franchise was such a success with audiences, the people over at Bungie thought they would do it all over again for the highly anticipated Halo 4. But the gaming studio didn’t just get anyone to help out with the trailer, they got David Fincher to help produce the Tim Miller-directed trailer. For those not familiar with Miller’s name, he is a visual effects artist whose work can be seen in the opening credits of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Apparently the best indication that a new generation of gaming consoles is on the horizon is when games of the current generation start requiring jaw-dropping amounts of hard drive space to play.
A recent update to Battlefield 3‘s multiplayer stood out for its hefty 2GB size, requiring players to wait impatiently for the update to finish, but another game might just force you to have to run out and do some errands or take up arts and crafts as you wait for it to install.
According to 343 Industries, the developers who took over the Halo franchise from Bungie, Halo 4 will require an 8 GB install in order to take part in its multiplayer action. That’s more than it takes to install almost any other full game to your hard drive, and nearly half the 20GB hard drive many people likely still have.
This week, Andy, Devindra, Chris, and Techmeme’s Lidija Davis break down this coming year’s latest videogame announcements from the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Later, we discuss last week’s All Things D conference, which was “haunted by the man who isn’t here.”
But first, this week’s headlines… LinkedIn suffers a massive security breach as 6.4 million passwords get leaked, Google sneaks the first video from Project Glass, Facebook Camera launches, Facebook plans to allow under 13-year-olds into their service, Apple to bring Siri to the iPad, and Airtime launches.
One of the most anticipated games arriving later this year, Halo 4 reunites gamers with their beloved Master Chief.
Since first being announced at last year’s E3, fans have been itching to get a real look at some gameplay from the newest Halo adventure, and now they have it. It still looks like the Halo we all know and love, but with a few changes (such as weapons that automatically modify according to the player) and additions that look promising…including a whole new enemy known as the Prometheans (you’ll know them when you see them).
