Nathan Fillion Alan Tudyk Con Man Series Cover

If you’re a fan of Joss Whedon‘s television series Firefly, I think it’s safe to say that you’d agree that the show was canceled too soon. Do you know who else believes this to be the case? Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion, two of the stars of the very series that was canceled too soon.

There’s a reason why I keep stating the phrase “too soon.” You see, Tudyk and Fillion have begun an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a new comedy series (which will air on Vimeo) called Con Man. Con Man is the story of an actor who had been on a science fiction television series, in which his character flew the spaceship. Unfortunately, the show was canceled too soon, and now he attends sci-fi conventions. Sound familiar?

The Inspector Chronicles Indiegogo

Whenever one talks about the Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time one must always remember the question is never “where?” but “when?” So when Travis Richey dropped an Indiegogo video call-to-action on his YouTube, you know what question fell from the tip of my tongue. And when I learned that season two of said series would, in fact, be an honest to geekness movie complete with two famous doctors from long-standing science fiction TV series my question shifted from “when?!” to “GTFO!”

For more info, some videos, and to find out the answer to my questions and the names of the famous cameo doctors, you must drop below the cut.

Geek Cred

Nerdy television shows are few and far between; some portray us in over-the-top ways while others seek to make geeks seem cool and reserved. Granted, there are some that fall into each of these categories, but what about the rest of us? Well, a new series called Geek Cred seeks to educate the masses about the goings on in an actual comic book shop. With the catch phrase “By fans. About fans. For fans.” in place, they are fundraising via Indiegogo as of February 5, 2014. They plan to start shooting this Spring with a goal of premiering the show in late May.

Check out their official press release, some posters, and the official Indiegogo video after the jump.

DOOMED! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's

The first trailer for the Indiegogo-funded documentary DOOMED! The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s “The Fantastic Four” has made its debut. You can check it out here below.

Marty Langford‘s documentary purports to tell the candid and comprehensive story of the making of the low-budget Fantastic Four adaptation that was filmed in 1992 and scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release two years later until it was revealed that producer Bernd Eichinger had only made it in order to hold onto the rights to Marvel Comics’ first family of superheroes and had the finished film shelved forever. It has since been seen by many through bootlegs sold online and at comic book conventions. You can even watch it in full on YouTube!
