| J.J. Abrams Confirms No New ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Footage At D23 Expo |

Disney skips San Diego Comic-Con every other year for their own mega Disney fan convention, the D23 Expo. Happening every odd year, the D23 Expo is an event that showcases everything about Disney, from their own studio, to Pixar, to Marvel, and now Lucasfilm. So with the studio notably absent from this year’s Comic-Con, one would think they would reserve all the new footage for their own panels, especially since Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, and Marvel weren’t there. The studio did, however, share some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the Con, which did confirm a few things like Daisy Ridley’s Rey piloting the Millennium Falcon. However, there is some unfortunate news to report. Even though Star Wars will have a presence at the D23 Expo this weekend, don’t expect to see any new footage or behind-the-scenes stuff during the live-action panel. More on this story below.

| First Teaser Video For HBO’s ‘Westworld’ Released
HBO has released the first video preview of their upcoming series Westworld, which is describes as a “dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.” It’s only 30 seconds long, but has plenty of quick peeks at footage that will surely excite many fans of HBO’s programming. The series is inspired by the 1973 movie of the same name, which was directed by Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton and starred Yul Brynner, and was set in a theme park filled with robots recreating three different historical periods: the old west, medieval times, and Roman times. When a power surge in the park causes a malfunction, robots begin killing people and two guests find themselves being chased by an android cowboy. | SDCC 2015: ‘Star Wars’ Concert Ends With Fireworks, Glowing Lightsabers (Video) |
 |

People were lining up as early as late Wednesday/early Thursday for the Star Wars panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, which was held at 5:30PM PST Friday evening. This was pretty unbelievable, as it was already known that they wouldn’t be showing any new trailers for the movie. Then again, this is Star Wars we’re talking about here. As it turns out, committing that much time to waiting in line was worth it for many. In addition to seeing the cast live and in person and being shown an excellent behind-the-scenes video focusing on the incredible practical effects being used in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, director J.J. Abrams invited the entire 6,500-person audience to a special concert of Star Wars music by San Diego Symphony nearby at Embarcadero Marina. Those who attended the concert were given a glowing lightsaber to wave around joyously during the concert, and it was all wrapped up with a fireworks display. You can see some videos of the event below.
