Another day, another big trailer for a highly anticipated upcoming movie. Today we have for you the teaser trailer for the much-buzzed Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The movie is the fourth installment in Disney’s mammoth Pirates of the Caribbean franchise starring Johnny Depp as the beloved Captain Jack Sparrow. Not much needs to be said, really. You’ve either stopped reading by now or you’ve already sprinted off to see the trailer! And speaking of the trailer, everything is looking pretty solid so far. There’s definitely a Pirates of the Caribbean movie on the way, but it also looks like it might be toning down the fantasy elements just a bit and embracing the human elements. That’s not to say fantasy won’t be a huge part of the movie though; as you’ll see, all of the promised mermaids and zombies and Fountain of Youth fun is accounted for. | Teaser Poster For ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ Hits Early
Earlier today, mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer shared an early gift on Twitter: a new teaser poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The movie, which is the fourth in the juggernaut Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, is set for release on May 20, 2011. It reunites Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and Captain Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) as they attempt to find the fabled Fountain of Youth that was teased at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. They’ll be joined by newcomer Penelope Cruz, who plays a woman from Sparrow’s past who might just be trying to use him to get to the Fountain. Eventually she forces him onto the Queen Anne’s Revenge, a ship Captained by the infamous Blackbeard (Ian McShane), putting Sparrow yet again into a tricky and dangerous situation. Most folks undertook this heavy task pre-2010, but we decided that it would be a little bit better to let the new year settle in a bit before hitting you with something of this magnitude. So here we are, geeks: we’ve officially arrived in FUTURE *cue retro ’50s sci-fi music* and still we have no freakin’ flying cars yet. What’s the deal with that? While it is pretty exciting to be inside of the year 2010 — a year that always seemed unreachable to us mere mortals — we are also exiting another entire decade that leaves us staring at one majorly epic task. That task? To search, dig, locate, retrieve, organize, polish, and present the very best films of the past ten years!
