| Listen Now: Radiohead’s Unused James Bond ‘Spectre’ Theme Song |
 |

Although it was a huge step down from the absolutely perfect quality of its predecessor Skyfall, I had a lot of fun with the latest James Bond adventure Spectre. I do have to admit that the opening credits sequence, a longtime staple of the franchise, had me almost rolling on the theater floor in hysterics due to its surprisingly perverse octopus imagery and Sam Smith‘s ridiculous and over-orchestrated main title song “Writing’s on the Wall.” Smith wasn’t the first choice of Spectre‘s producers and director Sam Mendes to perform the Spectre theme tune. Several artists were sought out for the job, one of them being the internationally-renowned British pop-rock band Radiohead. Early in the morning on Christmas Day, Radiohead’s lead singer and songwriter Thom Yorke confirmed the long-standing rumor via his Twitter. As a Christmas gift for their fans, Radiohead has released their unused contribution to 007’s latest cinematic mission, simply titled “Spectre,” which you can listen to here below.

| ‘Spectre’: Listen To Sam Smith’s James Bond Theme ‘Writing’s On The Wall’
There is a little over a month left before the release of the latest James Bond film Spectre, and there is still plenty of time to do some major promotions. Trailers and TV spots are easy to churn out, but one signature promotion that the Bond films have is the Bond theme. After months of rumors and speculation, Grammy Award winner Sam Smith was chosen. Unlike most of the previous themes, this title song won’t match with the title of the film. In this case, the song is called “Writing’s On The Wall.” And now you can hear the song in its entirety here below.

| Discussion: Can Sam Smith Really Top “Skyfall”? |
 |

It’s a very prestigious moment when an artist can join a very elite group that feature’s the likes of Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, Tom Jones, and Sheryl Crow. We aren’t talking about the Grammy’s or The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We’re talking Bond. James Bond. On Monday, the artist Sam Smith casually broke his vow of denial on the subject of whether he was chosen to sing the theme song for the upcoming Bond movie, Spectre. It was confirmed shortly after Smith posted a picture of a peculiar ring that features the famous evil organization’s S.P.E.C.T.R.E logo on it, that indeed the theme song will be called “Writing’s on the Wall” and feature Smith as the singer/songwriter. It will be the first time since “Thunderball” (Tom Jones) in 1965 that featured a British male solo artist as the theme song singer. Smith will have to really step up his game if he hopes to top the last Bond film’s theme song which was Adele‘s “Skyfall” for the Bond film of the same name. That song went on to earn an Oscar for Best Song at the Academy Awards and is considered by many to be one of the best Bond songs of them all.
