| Seth Rogen & James Franco Get ‘The Interview’
Seth Rogen will be making his directorial debut, alongside Evan Goldberg, for the apocalyptic comedy This is the End. In fact, Rogen’s already getting some early rave reviews from Columbia that they have given him the go ahead for another comedy project that will involve political satire. Like some of the heavy hitting people in the business, Rogen has built a network of comedians, which he generally gravitates towards for some of his projects. So it’s not such a surprise to hear that James Franco will be starring in Rogen’s new film, The Interview.

| SXSW 2013 Review: Harmony Korine’s ‘Spring Breakers’
Spring Breakers
Director: Harmony Korine
Screenwriter: Harmony Korine
Cast: James Franco, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, Gucci Mane “Pretend like it’s a video game…” Holy. Shit. Throw Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers and Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive into a blender with ice and add a few gallons of bottom shelf booze and you’ve got the cinematic mindfuck that is Harmony Korine‘s Spring Breakers. No offense to Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead, but Spring Breakers felt like the real “event” film of the festival this year. Korine’s dangerous, hypnotic cocktail of self-indulgence is a shallow study of shallow things.

| Cast Will Return For ‘Oz The Great & Powerful 2’; Sequel Will Not Feature Dorothy
With a very impressive $80 million debut this weekend, it’s no surprise that Oz The Great and Powerful is getting a sequel. Mitchell Kapner has been tapped to write the next chapter of Disney’s Oz franchise (WB has their own Oz property), but the film’s director, Sam Raimi, may not return. Despite that possible set back, a majority of the cast are signed on for sequels. But one thing we might not see, besides Raimi’s direction, is a pivotal character to the 1939 original film. Mila Kunis told E! Online, “We’re all signed on for sequels.” Co-star Rachel Weisz did say something different: she wasn’t sure whether or not there would be a sequel, but she shared Kunis’ enthusiasm. Although there are varying answers to a seemingly simple question, the cast is interested in returning to reprise their respective roles for the upcoming sequel.
