| ‘Aquaman’ Photos and Director James Wan’s Vision For The Underwater Hero
The DCEU is undergoing a rebrand in the wake of Justice League‘s flop. And directors are taking note of distancing themselves from the film with stories that serve the characters rather than lead up to the ensemble event. | ‘The Nun’ Trailer: The ‘Conjuring’ Universe Looks Into That Terrifying Portrait
I’m not a fan of the Conjuring films. Not because they are bad films, but they scare the bejeezus out of me. The success of both films have given way for spinoffs, and thus launching what is known as The Conjuring Universe. Following the success of two surprisingly good Annabelle films, comes The Nun. The portrait which appeared in The Conjuring 2 is getting its very own spinoff, which isn’t in the same vein as the Annabelle films, but it does give us pause as to why we keep inflecting scars on ourselves watching these terrifyingly good horrors/thrillers. | Live-Action ‘Swamp Thing’ Series In The Works
Despite some of the shaky later seasons for Arrow and The Flash, DC television is far superior to its Marvel competitors. New shows like Krypton and Black Lightning may not be connected to the Arrowverse, but they have proven to be huge hits with TV audiences. The comic book company has a number of properties to work with, and they have now announced their latest superhero to get a series treatment. It’s been revealed that a live-action Swamp Thing is in the works. The series will be coming to DC’s digital streaming service, called DC Universe, and Aquaman director James Wan will be one of the creative figureheads behind the upcoming show. | Geek Peek: First Look At ‘Aquaman’ Will Make You Want To Hit The Gym
One of the biggest problems for Justice League was introducing three new heroes to the DC superhero universe. This did not give much room for any narrative or exposition as the ensemble film had to squeeze out time to give some origin stories to The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. However, all will be getting standalone origin stories of their own. At least we hope. But one that is for certain is Aquaman. The film will see Jason Momoa reprise his role as Arthur Curry, the half-man half-Atlantean who is trying to figure out his place on land and in the ocean. Now we have our first look at the upcoming superhero film, which is being directed by James Wan (The Conjuring). Check out the first look here below.
