Last season on The Flash, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) had another, more deadly speedster nemesis than Reverse Flash – Zoom (Teddy Sears). Zoom came from Earth-2 and began sending metas from his world to kill Barry. He wanted his speed (doesn’t everyone?), and to be the ultimate power. They were joined by Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) from the other Earth because Zoom had kidnapped his daughter. What commenced was a crazy exciting season filled with doppelgängers, vibes, the speed force, and crossovers galore. Barry finally got the girl and a new brother, but lost his dad (John Wesley Shipp) for real. So Barry went back to that fateful night and stopped Reverse Flash from killing his mother.

Last week on The Flash, Barry (Grant Gustin) was super optimistic, despite all the metas running around, including Black Siren (Katie Cassidy). She was screaming down buildings, one of which was Mercury Labs. They figured out a way to take them all down with sound, but also had to stop more building collapses. Cisco and Caitlin (Carlos Valdes and Danielle Panabaker) dressed up like their doppelgängers to distract her, and it worked. Cisco got an end of the world vibe. Zoom (Teddy Sears) showed up and killed Henry (John Wesley Shipp).

Spoilers for the finale below.

Last week on The Flash, Barry (Grant Gustin) was lost in the speed force after they tried to recreate the particle accelerator explosion, tasked with catching up with a dark shadow or leave without his powers. The speed force seems to be God, or midichlorians, or the origin of matter, or something omniscient. He was visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and… actually, the speed force just dressed up like his family to give him Joe-isms, while his real family tried to get him back through the vibes of Cisco (Carlos Valdes). The final tears came when his loving mom came and read him a childhood story, “The Runaway Dinosaur.” Barry caught the shadow – himself, as Iris (Candice Patton) reached for him through Cisco, and brought him home with his speed.

Last week on The Flash, the group tries to make do with a slow Barry (Grant Gustin), using video game-like holograms to scare the bad guys into submission. And it seems to work a bit. Zoom is terrorizing Central City, and “Rupture” (Cisco’s brother’s Earth-2 counterpart) is after Cisco (Carlos Valdes), so they decide to recreate the particle accelerator explosion. After a really long back and forth, and three dads worth of advice, they try it. Barry disintegrates. Jesse and Wally get hit with the speed force and Barry particles and pass out.
