Happy Star Wars Day everybody! This day is especially important since it is the year we are getting a new film from the beloved franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. From director J.J. Abrams, the new film will see a whole new adventure featuring old and new characters. Much of what we have seen through two teasers has been wrapped in a shroud of mystery, and we only got a few clues as to what the sequel could be about at a recent panel at Star Wars Celebration. One of the biggest mysteries is who is Kylo Ren and who plays him.

Well, that mystery is solved today, as Vanity Fair has revealed who the actor is, along with a batch of photos that give us a peek at some interesting characters.

Day one of our coverage of Star Wars Celebration isn’t quite over yet. For the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens, We’ve already posted the new teaser trailer, new images, and what we’ve learned from the J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy panel. After it was all said and done, I went straight to check out The Force Awakens exhibit where some of the costumes, stormtrooper suits, BB-8, and some scaled models of the new X-Wing and Millennium Falcon.

It’s opening day of Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA, and today’s events started with the J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy panel, where we learned tidbits about Star Wars: The Force Awakens and were the first to watch the new breathtaking teaser trailer before it came online and see new images.

But even with all of the cheering and fan questioning at the popular panel, it just wouldn’t be a true celebration without having the old guard pass the baton (or should I say lightsaber) to the new guard. After the new cast was introduced — including the new ball droid BB-8), Abrams welcomed in Anthony Daniels (who plays C-3PO), Carrie Fisher (who plays Princess Leia), Peter Mayhew (who plays Chewbacca), and Mark Hamill (who plays Luke Skywalker), as well as the droid R2-D2. With the start of Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA, today comes plenty of Star Wars news, like the release of a new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens as well as new details revealed about the film by director J.J. Today marks the opening day for Star Wars Celebration. For the next four days, we will be covering some of the major events that are going on in sunny Anaheim, CA. We’ve already seen the new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The brand new footage provided some answers to the questions we had about the first teaser, but also added new ones. For the sake of keeping it spoiler-free, we won’t delve too much into it, but one question on everyone’s mind is, what did Han mean when he said: “Chewie, we’re home.” At the convention today, Before we saw the explosive trailer twice, director J.J. Abrams and LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy talked about some of their favorite Star Wars memories, and what it was like to shoot the film after George Lucas sold LucasFilm to Disney. We also learned a few things about the film, nothing too spoilery, but just enough of a tease to keep you going until the official full trailer comes out.
