| J.A. Bayona Confirms ‘Jurassic World’ Will Be A Trilogy
Last year, Colin Trevorrow‘s Jurassic World exceeded everyone’s wildest expectations by grossing $1.67 billion worldwide. As such, Universal Pictures announced that there would be a sequel. But with Trevorrow otherwise preoccupied with The Book Of Henry and Star Wars: Episode IX, the responsibility of directing the next Jurassic World would have to go to J.A. Bayona. Bayona was named the director of the sequel a few months back, and while at the Toronto International Film Festival recently, the filmmaker confirmed that Jurassic World will be a direct sequel. See below for more on the story and who else will be involved in making the film.

| ‘Jurassic World’ Re-Imagined As 1970’s Star-Studded Disaster Movie (Video)
Late last year, an intrepid YouTube user going by the handle ChiefBrodyRules (yes, yes, he certainly does) created a fan trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier in the manner of a VHS sneak preview for a 1980’s Cannon Films B-action flick, and it was undeniably awesome. The Chief’s latest triumph of imagination, ingenuity, and clever video editing skills re-imagines this past summer’s biggest global blockbuster, Jurassic World, as the sort of star-packed, high-concept disaster movie the late Irwin Allen pioneered, with more than a reasonable helping of dark science-fiction. You can watch it here below.

| ‘Jurassic World’ Sequel To Roar Into Theaters In The Summer Of 2018
I had a feeling Jurassic World was going to be a huge hit, but never in my wildest dreams did I suspect it would surpass The Avengers to become the third highest-grossing movie of all time worldwide. $1.522 billion in global office? Amazing. What doesn’t surprise me is that Universal Pictures has not only announced a sequel to World today, but they have also given it a release date of June 22, 2018. Colin Trevorrow, the indie filmmaker who brought a little life to the moribund franchise as World‘s director, will co-write the script with Derek Connolly. Together they wrote both the recent dino-tastic blockbuster and Trevorrow’s 2012 feature directorial debut, Safety Not Guaranteed.
