‘Machete Kills Again…In Space!’ Trailer Features Machete, Killing, and Lots Of Space
If you happened to catch Machete Kills during its brief theatrical run (and few did – $13.5 million in worldwide box office and it opened at #4 behind Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 in its third week) you might have noticed a “Grindhouse”-style fake trailer for a planned third installment of Robert Rodriguez‘ Tex-Mex action series starring Danny Trejo as a pissed-off former Federale who kills bad people with really sharp objects playing before and after the flick.
Now that trailer has been released online, and you can check out the deranged glory of Machete Kills Again…In Space! here below.

Ay Dios Mio! El Primer Trailer De ‘Machete Kills’ Está AquÃ!
Hola queridos lectores! That means, “Hello dear readers.” Gotta special little treat for you today. The first trailer for Machete Kills is now live and in full, lurid color.
You can check it out here below.
Director Robert Rodriguez and Danny Trejo introduce the trailer in Spanish and the narrator speaks the same language throughout the trailer, but fret not you proud hablantes de inglés because the rest of the trailer doesn’t require a Babel fish in your ear to understand. It’s a surprisingly bloodless preview, but Rodriguez is still bringing the crazy like gangbusters. A little violence here, some very pretty women there, and it’s all rounded off by a special appearance by Charlie Sheen as the President of the United States. He’s credited as “Carlos Estevez,” which all of you trivia buffs will recognize as Sheen’s birth name.

‘Machete Kills’ Release Date Set For This September
It has been three years since Robert Rodriguez turned his Grindhouse mock 70’s-style Mexploitation trailer Machete into a full-blown feature film that finally gave Danny Trejo, owner of one of the most unique movie star faces in the world, a starring role. Despite having only $10 million, Rodriguez nabbed a galaxy of rising stars and faded stars to back up Trejo and a fistful of positive reviews from B-movie geek fans and critics alike.
Machete earned over $14 million at the box office in its first weekend, but its earning potential quickly plummeted afterwards and by the time it left theaters, the movie had a total gross of $26 million. The end credits promised a forthcoming duo of insane sequels and since the original was profitable enough to warrant one so far, Rodriguez soon found himself at the helm of Machete Kills.

Wait, What? Robert Rodriguez Casts Lady Gaga In ‘Machete Kills’
OK, so it should come as no surprise that unexpected actors are being announced for the cast of the upcoming sequel, Machete Kills. Director Robert Rodriguez is known for putting together sometimes strange and always intriguing casts, and it always seems to work out quite well. The very same is expected here.
In the same way that he’s announced other casting news, such as Charlie Sheen playing the President of the United States, Rodriguez took to the Twitter to announce that pop music star Lady Gaga will also have a part in the sequel.
Gaga will play someone named La Chameleon, which is assumed to be a small role as the performer has apparently already filmed her scenes. Along with the announcement, Rodriguez also released a poster of Gaga in character. You can check that out below.

2011 MTV Video Music Awards: Watch Queen’s Brian May Perform With Lady Gaga
The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards was broadcast live tonight, with Lady Gaga opening the show with a live performance of her song “You and I,” which had the singer dressed in her male 1950s greaser alter ego doing a lengthy opening monologue before breaking into the song.
While Lady Gaga’s music isn’t exactly my thing, I can’t deny she’s an excellent performer, always keeping it interesting. As I watched her do her song in her “Jo Calderone” persona, I was ultra-psyched when midway through the act she introduced Queen’s Brian May to the stage for a lead guitar solo.
Check out the 8-minute video here below, which contains the entire Jo Calderone monologue, as well as the full song with Brian May from the VMAs.
