| Jason Momoa Joins ‘The Magnificent Seven’; ‘Terminator Genisys’ Star Also Cast
Another actor has entered into negotiations to join the cast of The Magnificent Seven, MGM’s upcoming remake of the 1960 western of the same name that starred Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen among many others. Jason Momoa, who is best known for his roles in Stargate: Atlantis, Marcus Nispel’s Conan the Barbarian remake, and as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones (until he makes his debut as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice anyway), is the latest actor to become attached to the movie. Momoa would play one of the film’s villains if everything works out, though no details on who exactly that might be is not yet known. All that is known is that it’s not the primary antagonist, a role that has not been cast at the moment.

| Ethan Hawke Joins ‘Magnificent Seven,’ Completes ‘Training Day’ Reunion
It’s being reported that Ethan Hawke has entered into final negotiations to star in the upcoming remake of The Magnificent Seven for MGM. The casting completes a reunion of the Academy Award winning 2001 drama Training Day, which also starred Denzel Washington, who won an Oscar for Best Actor for the role, and was directed by Antoine Fuqua—both of whom are also attached to Magnificent Seven. Hawke was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, but lost to Jim Broadbent in Iris.

| Chris Pratt In Talks For ‘Magnificent Seven’ Remake
With the massive success of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and his upcoming role in Jurassic World, Chris Pratt is quite the popular commodity right now. Recently he was offered the role of Nathan Drake in the planned movie adaptation of the Uncharted video game series, but turned down the offer. Now comes word that Pratt has entered into early negotiations to star in Magnificent Seven, MGM’s remake of the classic 1960 western directed by John Sturges and starring Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, and Eli Wallach. If all works out Pratt would play a character named Farraday, and would join Denzel Washington on the cast.

Sometimes a rumor enters your eyespace that you feel has to be made up by someone who has far too much time on their hands and wanted to score some easy traffic for their site. Those are the rumors you scoff at and ignore, mumbling something no one will ever hear you say as you move on to other more reliable news sources. Then there’s the times where those rumors surface, and, no matter how fabricated they feel, must be shared with you the masses. Last month we were surprised to find out that MGM (who’s trying to make a big comeback from near death with multiple remakes) was developing a new remake of the western classic (and remake in its own right of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai), The Magnificent Seven with Tom Cruise attached to star. That’s still as far as accurate details about the movie go, but a shiny new rumor has a trio of actors in line to join the cast that would force you to pay attention to the movie.

Since their near-death experience that put in danger numerous projects including The Hobbit and the newest James Bond flick, Skyfall, MGM has been busy concentrating on their remakes. Movies like RoboCop and Carrie are already well on their way, and now the studio is adding another significant title to the list. It’s being reported that MGM is developing a remake of the 1960 western classic The Magnificent Seven, with none other than Tom Cruise attached to star in one of the roles.
