Warner Bros. has made some excellent progress when it comes to adding diversity in their DC films. They were among the first to have a solo female superhero film to be directed by a female director. And now they’ve taken another huge step with Birds Of Prey, an all-female DC superhero ensemble. Directed by Cathy Yan, the film will see Margot Robbie reprising her DCEU role as Harley Quinn, who will be joined by DC characters Black Canary, Huntress, Cassandra Cain, and Renee Montoya in a fight to defend Gotham City against one of Batman’s most notable villains, Black Mask. While Robbie is the only confirmed actress to board the film, a new report says Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Justina Machado,, and more are being considered for various roles. Lionsgate Home Video
Release date: October 4, 2016 Swiss Army Man is the story of hope, friendship, and farting. The first full-length feature from writer/director team Daniel Scheinert and Dan Kwan …aka “The Daniels.” I don’t want to give any intimate details of the film, because it may be the single most original film I’ve ever seen. If you’ve heard of Swiss Army Man, you probably know the basic plot. A shipwrecked man (Paul Dano) on the verge of suicide finds a washed-up corpse on the beach (Daniel Radcliffe), and their insane friendship restores the hope that our main character can survive his ordeal. Oh yeah and the corpse farts”¦ a lot. The two Daniels won the Directing Award at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and the film has quickly developed a cult reputation.
