| First Look: Meryl Streep Rocks In ‘Ricki and The Flash’
Meryl Streep is ready to rock! The three-time Oscar-winning actress sings and plays guitar in Ricki and the Flash, directed by Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) from a screenplay by Diablo Cody (Juno). TriStar Pictures has released the first look at Streep rockin’ out as Ricki in the movie. Check full, hi-res first look photo here below. Ricki and the Flash see the 65-year-old Streep as the title character, an aging rocker who had chosen a music career over her family; unfortunately, she failed to become a huge rock star and instead became estranged from her children during her attempts to make it big. Now, she has the chance to make things right with her family.

A new trailer has been released for Into the Woods, Disney’s upcoming live-action fantasy musical based on the tales of the Brothers Grimm. A teaser trailer for the movie was released back in August. Walt Disney Pictures has released the teaser trailer for Into The Woods, the Rob Marshall-directed film based on the Stephen Sondheim musical that takes several classic Grimm fairy tales — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel — and gives them a modern twist. | SDCC 2014: ‘The Giver’ Panel
Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly introduced the panel for The Giver, on Wednesday’s San Diego Comic Con panel in Hall H. The book that the film is based on, Lois Lowry‘s groundbreaking 1993 novel was arguably the prototype for the recent trend of Young Adult dystopian sci-fi that includes book series like The Hunger Games and Divergent. Director Philip Noyce introduced, via a pre-recorded video message, footage from the film which gave a great overview of the false utopia of the world of The Giver and the discovery of its dark history. Breznican then introduced author Lois Lowry, Brenton Thwaites, who plays Jonas, Jeff Bridges, who plays The Giver, Odeya Rush, who plays Fiona, and producer Nikki Silver.
