Release Date: October 28, 2014 Directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister), Deliver Us from Evil stars Eric Bana as Ralph Sarchie, a New York police detective who investigates a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. To combat a demonic entity that is terrorizing the Bronx, Sarchie joins forces with an unconventional priest (Édgar RamÃrez) who is well-versed in the rituals of exorcism. Written by Derrickson and Paul Harris Boardman, Deliver Us from Evil is based upon Beware the Night, a 2001 non-fiction book by Sarchie and co-writer Lisa Collier Cool that chronicles the retired NYPD sergeant’s encounters with the supernatural. The film is an amalgam of Derrickson’s previous work, blending the true crime elements of Sinister with The Exorcism of Emily Rose‘s exploration of demonic possession.

| Watch The Second Trailer For ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ Starring Eric BanaBack in March, we saw the first trailer for Sinister director Scott Derrickson‘s new feature, Deliver Us From Evil, a supernatural horror that sees a cop (Eric Bana) and a priest (Edgar Ramirez) partner up to investigate demonic possessions in New York City. The story is inspired by the true-life cases of police officer Ralph Sarchie, who Bana portrays in the film. Now, Sony has released a second trailer for the film and it comes in at just over 3-minutes-long. Watch the new trailer here below! Deliver Us From Evil comes to theaters on July 2, 2014.

| Trailer For ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ From Director Of ‘Sinister’ Looks To Terrorize (Video)When Scott Derrickson came out with Sinister back in 2012, the director proved his worth in the realm of horror, bringing viewers some incredible scares via a crate filled with rolls of chilling 8mm film. Now the director and writer is back with his latest entry, Deliver Us From Evil, which explores evil in its most ethereal form and continues to build on the trend of bringing “based on true events” stories to the big screen. The first trailer for the movie, which stars Edgar Ramirez, Eric Bana and Olivia Munn, was recently released and it shows definite promise in unleashing dread upon the masses.
