| ‘Transformers 5’: Michael Bay Promises This One Will Be His Last
We’ve heard many directors say that the latest installment of a feature franchise will be their last, and often times it’s not. The only possible way that could happen is if said director is already moving on with a new project or the franchise has already signed a different director. So in the case of Transformers 5, Michael Bay was indecisive on whether or not to direct the next feature. We all know what Paramount has done to secure that Transformers stays with them by hiring a number of writers to pen spinoffs, sequels, and prequels. And while most of those features are now confirmed, the studio was adamant on bringing back Bay for one more Transformers film. And now it looks like he is obliging them. A new report says he will direct Transformers 5. More on the story below.

| Hasbro Says 4 More ‘Transformers’ Films On The Way |
 |

This past summer, Paramount Studios hired 12 writers to write out the bible for the Transformers cinematic universe. The plan was for the writers to come up with ideas that would expand beyond the canon films with spinoffs and prequels. Of the proposed works there were plans for a Bumblebee spinoff, Beast Wars, and more. Of the nine pitches that were sent to the Transformers brain trust — Michael Bay, Akiva Goldsman, Steven Spielberg, Mark Vahradian, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, as well as Hasbro’s Brian Goldner — only five were approved. Of those five, a Transformers Cybertron animated origins film will be helmed by Ant-Man co-writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, while Goldsman is confirmed to be scripting Transformers 5. Bay has yet to announce if he will return to direct the fifth untitled Transformers film. It’s still not clear if the other three unnamed projects are spinoffs or prequels, but Hasbro announced that there will be four more Transformers films in the next decade. More on the story below.

Led by Akiva Goldsman, the plan is to take the franchise beyond the films we have seen so far. Rumors of this expansion include spinoffs centering on Bumblebee, a Cybertron origins film, and possibly Beast Wars. But there is one certainty: Paramount wants to have a Transformers 5, and they want Michael Bay to direct it. The plan was to have a script ready in time for Bay when he completes his work on the Bengazhi film 13 Hours. While nothing is official yet, it appears that the Armageddon director is interested in coming back to direct his fifth Transformers film. But there is more. A new report is coming out that give us a look at what the writing teams have come up with in four short months. More on the story below.

| Sony Sets Release Dates For ‘Bad Boys 3’ AND ‘Bad Boys 4’
We’ve been hearing about the development of Bad Boys 3 for quite a while now. Michael Bay directed the first two movies in the franchise, both of which starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, but we found out back in June that Sony was actually in talks with The Grey, Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team, and Narc director Joe Carnahan to re-write a script penned by David Guggenheim and possibly direct the movie instead of Bay, who’s thought to be too busy with his upcoming 13 Hours and the Transformers franchise. Now Sony has announced a release date for Bad Boys 3. But even more surprising is that they also have an early release date reserved for Bad Boys 4, as well.
