Thor Ragnarok Tessa Thompson

Shooting a movie can be a grueling process for everyone on set. And one way that directors can make it easier for everyone is to play music. Though the choice can vary from director to director, most would agree that these productions are a lot easier to go through if everyone is loosened up. And director Taika Waititi made Thor: Ragnarok a lot of fun with shifting the franchise in a new direction with the heavy metal vibes.

Geeks of Doom recently sat down with fellow members of the press at the Thor: Ragnarok junket, where we learned more about the process of making the film, and the music that played while on set. But as for the film’s heavy metal look, Waititi said he had the full support of everyone over at Marvel Studios. In doing so, he gave us an absolute bombastic film that looks like it was pulled straight off a heavy metal cover art and tons of fun.

But that isn’t the only musical inspiration behind Thor: Ragnarok. In fact, there was another band that helped influence the film. And I use that term very loosely. There were a couple of Yo Gabba Gabba songs that helped the cast get through the production. Find out more about this in the full story below.

Thor: Ragnarok

To celebrate the start of the NFL season, Marvel teased fans everywhere with a clash of titans of their own — the one between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), which we will see in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. But to avoid spoilers, we won’t know who the victor is until the film comes out. Though, a few trailers see Thor lying to Bruce Banner, who seems a little confused that he could lose to someone like Thor. But one thing is for sure, we are going to see a brand new team-up featuring some of the MCU’s best fantastical heroes. Now if they could just figure out a name.

Check out the latest TV spot for Thor: Ragnarok here below.

Thor: Ragnarok Header Photo

Thor films have always been colorful. Unlike some of his earthly counterparts, Asgard has been heavy on the fantasy aspect by draping the world in imaginative and fantastical designs.

But with the film just another two months away from release, Marvel is stepping up the marketing game by releasing a set of new Thor: Ragnarok character posters. However, these character posters have a bit more of an artistic pop to them than the generic backgrounds we are used to seeing. Check them all out below.

SDCC 2017 Thor Ragnarok image 06

At SDCC 2017 Saturday, after dropping a few nuggets of news for Ant-Man And The Wasp and Captain Marvel, Director Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchette, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, and, Rachel House all walked out to talk about Thor: Ragnarok. If House’s name sounds a bit unfamiliar, she’s a bit of a last minute announcement, if you haven’t seen Waititi’s, The Hunt For Wilderpeople. But if you have, then the casting makes a lot of sense as she has appeared in four of Watiti’s films.

Check out what else they had to say at San Diego Comic-Con and the new trailer below.
