Stephen Merchant Lip Sync Battle

Hugh Jackman has been playing the role of Wolverine for the past 16 years. The character is the face of the X-Men film franchise, having appeared in all of the films, cameo or otherwise. He even got his own titular spinoff. The actor will, of course, be reprising his role one final time in Wolverine 3. But aside from him, Patrick Stewart was the only other actor to have a role in the film. And now it is about to add some more.

Earlier this month Boyd Holbrook was cast as an original villain not known to the comics. Now according to new reports, Stephen Merchant and Richard E. Grant have been cast in the film. More on their roles below.

Frank Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life

Because we here at Geeks of Doom are just absolutely mad about Doctor Who – and also because it’s one slow news day – I present to you a short film written and directed by none other than the newest actor to take up the mantle of the avuncular Time Lord from Gallifrey, Peter Capaldi.

Capaldi made Franz Kafka’s It’s a Wonderful Life in 1995 with the cooperation of the BBC. The 22-minute feature was the actor’s first time calling the shots on his own film and later shared that year’s Academy Award for Best Live-Action Short Film with Peggy Rajski’s Trevor. You can watch it here below.

TARDISblend Header

Merry Christmas to you all from us here at GeeksOfDoom.com – and we all know what Christmas means, right? That’s right: a brand new Doctor Who episode!

Series 7 continues with the annual Christmas Special of Doctor Who entitled The Snowmen. Seeking refuge and isolation in Victorian London, and protected by some faithful allies, the Doctor becomes a recluse after losing his previous companions. However, as he broods, a new evil plot is hatched by a new foe with connections to some long-ago adventures the Doctor has experienced.

During TARDISblend 58, we analyze the new Doctor Who, which comes complete with new iconic show titles and theme, and the debut (or is it?) of new companion Clara (Jenna Louise-Coleman). We discuss the new elements giving clues to Steven Moffat‘s overarching plots, as well as several cameo references to Classic Doctor Who in this episode.

Also, we have a look at the performances from some of the special guests in this episode by Richard E. Grant, and Sir Ian McKellen. All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!

Iconic Richard E. Grant Joins Doctor Who For Series 7

Richard E. Grant, mostly known for Withnail and I, and lesser known for being the pimple that took over himself in How To Get Ahead In Advertising, has been announced as a special guest in the upcoming seventh season of Doctor Who. It has not been revealed who he will be portraying at this point in time.

The BBC made the announcement today via their Twitterfeed, beforehand telling their followers that an “iconic star” had been cast in the series.

UK newspaper, The Sun, highly regarded as an organization that excels at making up shit, speculates Grant will be the antagonist in the 2012 Christmas Special.

Being that The Sun is rarely associated with Nostradamus, I’d take that with a boulder of salt until the BBC make further official revelations… (that being said though, The Sun DID accurately report the Queen would be plopping out of a plane with 007 for the Olympics waayyy back in April).
