| Noomi Rapace Will Return For ‘Alien: Covenant’
Contrary to what we have heard in the past, and the fact that the film has already commenced shooting, Noomi Rapace is on board to reprise her role as Elizabeth Shaw in Alien: Covenant. Previous reports made no mention of her, and even the synopsis that was released seemed to have indicated that she did not survive the events after Prometheus, despite being one of the only survivors to have her head on her shoulders and all four limbs attached. In fact, the only person that made it onto the film’s synopsis was David (Michael Fassbender), and if you recall, his head was taken clean off of his android body. So it would have been interesting to know who was the one person to reattach his head to his body. Now we know who, but what will Elizabeth Shaw be doing in the film. More on that below.

| ‘Blade Runner 2’ Adds ‘The Martian,’ ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ Star Mackenzie Davis
The cast of Blade Runner 2 has added another name. Mackenzie Davis, who appeared in Ridley Scott‘s The Martian and stars in the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire, has signed on for a role. Davis joins original Blade Runner star Harrison Ford, who will reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the sequel, and fellow newcomer Ryan Gosling on the cast. Also starring is Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, and Carla Juri.

20th Century Fox has released a teaser trailer for a new sci-fi thriller titled Morgan. The movie is the feature directorial debut of Luke Scott, who is the son of Alien and Blade Runner director Ridley Scott. Ridley is also involved in the project as a producer. | AMC Orders Anthology Series ‘The Terror’ Based On Dan Simmons Novel; Ridley Scott To Produce
AMC has given the greenlight to a new anthology series titled The Terror, which will be based on the novel of the same name by author Dan Simmons. The series is set in 1847 and follows a Royal Naval crew that, while searching for the Northwest Passage, is attacked by a mysterious predator that then stalks the ship. The script is written by David Kajganich, who previously penned The Invasion, Blood Creek, and True Story. He also worked on the script for the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s It. Kajganich will serve as showrunner on The Terror along with The Killing and The Whispers writer Soo Hugh.

| Trailer For ‘Taboo’ Starring Tom Hardy and Produced By Ridley Scott
A trailer has been released for an upcoming FX and BBC One miniseries titled Taboo. It comes from Tom Hardy, who not only stars but also writes and executive produces, and Ridley Scott, who also executive produces. The miniseries is set to run eight episodes, and it’s set in the early 19th century and follows a man (played by Hardy) once believed to be dead who returns home to inherit hit father’s shipping company. Hardy wrote the miniseries based on a story he and his father Chips Hardy, who serves as a consulting producer, came up with. You can read more about Taboo and check out the trailer below.
