iZombie Liv Rose McInter CW

Yay! The CW obviously takes my advice and has renewed iZombie for a second season!

Debuting in March amidst a lot of buzz, iZombie has been a solid show, helped by the lead-in of the wildly popular Arrow spinoff, The Flash on Tuesday nights.

Last week’s iZombie found Liv (Rose McIver) feeling very motherly, after eating the brains of a woman who died very late in her pregnancy. The baby survived. She had been missing for months and everyone thought the boyfriend did it. Liv gave “psychic” clues as she usually does and the episode ends with the case solved. Or was it? Well yes – for the pregnant mom, the case was solved. but some other things happened…

iZombie Maternity Liv

iZombie
Season 1 Episode 7: “Maternity Liv”
Directed by Patrick Norris
Written by Bob Dearden
Created by Rob Thomas
Starring Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, David Anders
The CW
Air Date: Tuesday, April 28th, 2015, 9:00pm

Last week’s iZombie was really disgusting for Liv (Rose McIver). She had to eat old dead brain. I don’t mean old, as in age of person. I mean old, like left out of the fridge too long. The body was undiscovered for a while because the guy was a recluse. Worse – an internet trolling recluse. And it looked like an allergic reaction, so Liv was almost off the hook. But no. Turns out it was a cleverly concealed allergen delivered right to him. They never would have found that out if it weren’t for Liv’s “psychic” visions. Jackie can’t control her zombie-ness, so Blaine (David Anders) has to end her. Oh and scary! Liv’s mom might have gotten her baby brother a job at Blaine’s!

Delicious episode this week! But before that, let’s recap iZombie from last week.

Liv (Rose McIver) found the meaning of YOLO inside, after eating the adrenaline junkie brains of an old college friend. Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) did not get in trouble this week — a refreshing change. His boss is a zombie too. They are everywhere! Major (Robert Buckley) went to the skate park to find the Candyman. He found him and got his ass kicked. The reason I said I was confused last week, was because they went from a shot of Major bleeding on the sidewalk, to a bodybag, to Liv riding a bike through the streets exhilarated. I really thought that Major was in that bodybag, which would have been a shocker whether or not he was really dead or a new zombie. Liv meets a potential zombie boyfriend. And boy, is he cute!

iZombie 105-01

iZombie
Season 1 Episode 5: “Flight Of The Living Dead”
Directed by David Warren
Written by Deirdre Mangan
Created by Rob Thomas
Starring Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, David Anders
The CW
Air Date: Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, 9:00pm

Before I review iZombie 1.5 “Flight Of The Living Dead,” let me recap what happened to the cutest zombie in America last week.

Previously, on iZombie 1.4 “Live and Let Clive,” this episode was about… you guessed it – Clive (Malcolm Goodwin)! It was an Asian gang murder (you could tell by the missing fingers), and Liv’s (Rose McIver) vision stars Clive as the bad guy! Now normally she would give him the benefit of the doubt, but he is also being very secretive and not letting him help on the case. Dr. Ravi (Rahul Kohli) thinks she’s jumping to conclusions and we now know he was right.

The other storyline is the lucrative brain business that Blaine (David Anders) is running. He has a chef creating brain “delicacies” and his market is rich zombies. Two of his goons try to branch out but are shut down almost immediately. Sadly, it looks like the supply is coming from people no one would look for. But Major (Robert Buckley) is looking.
