Before you get too excited, something should be made clear. Netflix has not yet officially announced a season three for Stranger Things. Which is no great surprise considering that the highly anticipated second season is still a couple of months away.

That said, according to the Duffer brothers, Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, a third season is already a sure thing. And a fourth season looks likely as well.

We’ve still got a little bit of waiting to do before Stranger Things returns this fall for season two.

While it’s not quite as good as that Super Bowl spot we saw earlier this year, Netflix does have some treats for us today. The first is a brief teaser video. The second is a cool new poster. Both also confirm a release date for season two. We knew it was coming around Halloween, and now we have an exact date.

The number of directors for the first season of the Netflix series Stranger Things was limited to three people. The Duffer Brothers helmed six of the eight episodes, while Shawn Levy was behind the lens for two. Since the show caught fire last year, it comes as no surprise that other creative filmmakers would want to direct an episode or two in Season 2. One of those people will be Pixar’s very own Andrew Stanton, the director of Disney’s Finding Nemo, Wall-E, Finding Dory, and the underrated John Carter.

Aside from all the movie TV spots we saw during the Super Bowl this past weekend, there was a huge preview for Stranger Things season 2. It was pretty much the highlight of all the ads. Of course, we still know very little, if anything, about the new season. That’s because much of the plot has been wrapped in a cocoon of secrecy. No one is willing to reveal any details. And rightfully so, it only adds to the mystery and intrigue of the show.

We’ll likely learn more in the months leading up to its Halloween premiere. As we saw in the preview, season 2 will definitely live up to its title. It looks as though it will get bigger and go darker. And now we are finding out a little bit out the direction its going in, and seeing some new images. Chances are you saw some people dressed as Eleven for Halloween. The character is probably best recognized for wearing a light pink dress and wearing a jean jacket while holding a box of Eggo waffles, and having a bloody nose from using all her telekinetic powers.
