| NYCC 2016: Screen Junkies Panel – Movie Fights & Honest Trailers
For the second straight year, I spent a late night at New York Comic-Con watching the Screen Junkies gang. Screen Junkies currently sits at just under 5.7 million YouTube subscribers and is one of the preeminent places on the internet for geek culture. The room at NYCC was PACKED, with people standing in the back and alongside the walls. The site’s two biggest hits are Movie Fights and Honest Trailers. The event was emceed by Screen Junkies founder Andy Signore, and featured Dan Murrell, Spencer Gilbert, comic writer Marc Andreyko, Mark Ellis from Collider, and two fans who were competing against the Junkies in the Movie Fight rounds. The Movie Fights section was held as a one-on-one single elimination tournament and featured really interesting questions, and even better responses and arguments.

After taking a break for a few weeks with the Honest Trailers, I am back and right on time, as Screen Junkies just released one of The CW’s The Flash the afternoon before the Season 3 premiere. The Flash is part of DC’s TV universe along with Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow, and tonight starts the ultra popular “Flashpoint” story arc, where Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) traveled back in time to save his mother, and inadvertently altered the timeline so that he is NOT The Flash. So strap in as the Screen Junkies prep you for season 3 with an HT recap of the first two seasons. Check out the Honest Trailer below.

| Honest Trailers Presents ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’
If you’ve seen the new animated film, Batman: The Killing Joke, you know that somehow, someway, despite all the fan rage against the DCEU films, they actually managed to mess up the un-mess-up-able. Alan Moore wrote Batman: The Killing Joke in 1988, and it instantly became the most talked about and adored comics maybe of all time. It is the quintessential Batman & Joker story, featuring the Joker committing awful acts in an effort to prove to Batman that all it takes is one really bad day to make a good man go crazy. These include shooting and paralyzing Barbara Gordon, as well as the extended torture of her father. DC animated movies have long been the standard in comic animation, so when critics and fans both slammed this adaptation, it became an easy target for the gang at Screen Junkies to give it the Honest Trailers treatment. Check out the Honest Trailer below.

| Honest Trailers Presents Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator’
Are you excited for the remake of Ben-Hur? Are you just finding out there is a remake of Ben-Hur? Well the gang at Screen Junkies know, and they using that as the basis for today’s Honest Trailer. Harkening back to one of the best modern sword & sandal epics, they’re doing Gladiator, the Best Picture winner from the year 2000, and the movie that turned Russell Crowe into a pretty big deal. It also set off a stream of other historically-based epics that ranged from decent (Troy) to overlong and boring (Kingdom of Heaven), to outright hysterically awful (Alexander). Check out the Honest Trailer below.
