| SDCC 2014: Legendary Teases New King Kong Movie ‘Skull Island’
Legendary Pictures booked a large panel today at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H, where they showed footage for their upcoming features, Godzilla, Warcraft, Crimson Peak, Blackhat, and As Above So Below. When the panel was drawing to a close, the audience thought for sure there’d be something about Pacific Rim 2, since director Guillermo del Toro was there promoting Crimson Peak and head of Legendary Thomas Tull mentioned how del Toro was working on the sequel. The lights then went out and instead of getting a Pacific Rim 2 tease, attendees were treated to a look at new King Kong movie Skull Island.

| SDCC 2014: ‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’ Teaser Trailer Shown
As fans awaited the Warner Brothers panel for The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H today, the massive screens began to play scenes from Peter Jackson‘s Lord Of The Rings trilogy and the two released Hobbit film. This segued right into video of Stephen Colbert on the set of The Hobbit where he played a Laketown spy and his wife and children also had cameo, and we got to see their cameos, as well as an extended scene with Peter Jackson acting silly. Soon after, more video was soon, including a lengthy blooper reel, but then Colbert came out to moderate wearing his Laketown spy attire. Then, Peter Jackson finally appeared on stage with members of the cast, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Orlando Bloom, Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, Andy Serkis, and Luke Evans.

| SDCC 2014: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Panel
Mad Max, the Australian 1979 cult film which became one of the most original, dystopian, and riveting action pictures of all time, spawning a franchise and making its original titualar character Mel Gibson a superstar, is being rebooted. Hall H in today’s Warner Brothers panel proceedings gave the details of Mad Max: Fury Road at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con in sunny San Diego, California. Moderated by the witty Chris Hardwick and showcasing one George Miller, who directed not only the original film but is also handling the reboot from the directorial chair, there was a wonderful poignancy to their chat, especially when Miller let slip that this was his very first Comic-Con appearance. Miller himself gave us a backstory on the original film and that he was spellbound that he was actually making a new version of the franchise in 2014.

| SDCC 2014: Dark Comics Announces ‘The Art Of He-Man and The Masters Of The Universe’
Dark Horse Comics had another announcement at 2014’s San Diego Comic Con International with word of the upcoming release of The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The massive tome “collects over 30 years of behind-the-scenes material, lore, and classic imagery” from the classic Mattel toy line. The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is being made with the cooperation of various Mattel and He-Man historians and will include “rarely seen images of concept sketches, prototypes, and more from Mattel’s archives. Featuring beautifully restored art from master illustrator Earl Norem“”celebrated artist of the most memorable He-Man images!” The book will be in comic stores on April 1, 2015 and other bookstores on April 14, 2015, so start saving up your money now.
