Shout! Factory To Release ‘UHF,’ ‘Escape From New York,’ ‘Mad Max,’ and More On Blu-ray
|
 |

A week ago I wrote a retrospective article on the 25th anniversary of “Weird Al” Yankovic‘s supremely silly cult classic UHF and ended it with these words:
The movie may one day see a release on Blu-ray and now that Yankovic’s career is hotter than ever thanks to the success of his latest album Mandatory Fun it wouldn’t be inconceivable for a company like Shout! Factory to distribute an HD edition.
I automatically assumed at the time that Shout! would pick up the license to release UHF on Blu-ray because it’s an MGM title and they typically distribute that studio’s lesser-loved catalog entries. Plus this year would be the most appropriate time for a UHF Blu because the movie celebrates its silver anniversary in 2014 and anniversaries always look good on a Blu-ray/DVD cover. But I had no idea that when Shout! announced its upcoming home video release slate over the weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con they would be including a new 25th anniversary edition of UHF among some of their better-known titles.

CONFIRMED: The Mako Is Back In ‘Mass Effect 4,’ Familiar Characters Could Return

A panel was held by BioWare at San Diego Comic-Con to look at the future of the Mass Effect franchise, called “Charting a Course: Developing the next Mass Effect,” which is currently commonly referred to as Mass Effect 4—though it must be noted that this will not be the official title of the next game when it is released.
The big confirmation was that the MAKO will be back for the next game. This was somewhat expected—there would have been some outrage if it didn’t return—but it’s incredibly exciting to have confirmation. Also mentioned during the panel is that some familiar faces could return in the next game as well, which would be interesting.

SDCC 2014: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 4 Blooper Reel (Video)

Game of Thrones is a shown known for many things but, while there is humor sprinkled throughout the series, comedy is not one of those things. Still, as anyone who follows the show closely and has seen behind the scenes pictures can tell you, this is cast that likes to have fun when the cameras aren’t rolling. And now we know they sometimes like to have fun even when the cameras are rolling as well.
During the Game of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, a blooper reel from season four was shown. It’s brief, but very much worth seeing if you’re a fan of the show. You can watch it below!

SDCC 2014: ‘Last Of Us’ Movie Panel

The first panel in Friday’s San Diego Comic-Con Hall H was listed solely as “Sneak Preview,” so the audience didn’t know what to expect. The lights dimmed, and the distinctive guitar of Gustavo Santaolalla filled the room.
A trailer for a remastered version of Naughty Dog’s groundbreaking PlayStation game The Last of Us played on the screens, ending with the text “Soon to be a major motion picture.” The crowd erupted as the house lights went up and Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross came to the podium. He announced that this panel will be to discuss the film adaptation in development and introduced producer Sam Raimi and original video game writer and creative director Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog to the panel.
