Yesterday saw the unveiling of the first poster for Walt Disney Studios’ Maleficent, featuring Angelina Jolie as the famed titled villainess. Today, the studio has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming film. Watch it here below! Disney has also released three stills from the live-action film, which you can see here below. Maleficent, which also stars Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville, opens in theaters on May 30, 2014.

| Disney Releases New Poster For ‘Maleficent’ Featuring Angelina Jolie
A new poster for Maleficent has been released by Walt Disney, featuring Angelina Jolie as the feared villainess. The movie is something of a prequel, and also a retelling of Disney’s classic 1959 animated feature, Sleeping Beauty, taking the film’s primary antagonist, Maleficent (Jolie), and telling the story of who she was before, how an act of betrayal turned her heart to stone, and why she ultimately cursed a young princess named Aurora. | ‘Oldboy’ Celebrates National Fortune Cookie Day
Today is National Fortune Cookie Day and the Oldboy remake is celebrating. Check out the poster here below, which shows just how Oldboy celebrating, along with the special fortune that’s inside the cookie. The marketing has been quite interesting so far for this American remake, directed by Spike Lee and starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley. During San Diego Comic-Con back in July, FilmDistrict had Oldboy hotel escorts carrying yellow umbrellas outside the convention center “waiting to serve you” at the Oldboy Hotel.

If he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but the poor, huddled masses on Earth as well.

| SDCC 2013: ‘Europa Report’ Panel
Another year, another set of fascinating panels here at San Diego’s Comic-con international 2013. First off this Thursday is a panel for Europa Report, the film Space.com called “One of the most thrilling and realistic depictions of deep-space exploration since Moon and 2001: A Space Odyssey.” The panelists were director Sebastian Cordero, composer Bear McCreary (composer of Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead), producer Ben Browning, and actress Karolina Wydra, alongside JPL scientists Steve Vance and Kevin Hand. Astronomer Dr. Phil Plait moderated. Starting the panel off, Dr. Plait mentioned that the three reasons we explore space are resources, danger, and simply to explore — sheer curiosity. And sometimes that exploration comes with a price.
