The Fantastic Four movie 2015 Miles Teller as Reed Richards Mr. Fantastic

There is no hiding the fact that Fantastic Four did not meet anyone’s expectations, unless those expectations were failing ones. Fox stands to lose up to $60 million dollars due to its underwhelming $26.2 million dollar debut, and things could get worse if they continue to progress the way they are now.

Because of director Josh Trank‘s volatile and revealing tweet, we were shown the ugly side of studio interference. But it’s not as though Trank is without blame. Throughout the production of the film, the filmmaker has been hostile to both the cast and creative team, even to the homeowners who rented the house to him. Through great effort, PR tried to make it seem as though there was no validity to any of these rumors with exclusive interviews of Trank and Kinberg sitting together as if they were friends, but word was getting out, and there was no stopping the inevitable.

The Fantastic Four reboot then confirmed what we all knew, there was a huge shift in tone and wigs in the final third act of the film. On Monday, we learned of the many problems that plagued the production of the film were aired out. Now a new report is out revealing just how problematic Trank has been during the filming process, and it is supporting previous reports of his strange behavior. More on this below.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Will Have A Mutant Fight Club Says Bryan Singer

x-men apocalypse header

The first rule of Fight Club is that you don’t talk about Fight Club. But how could someone not break that rule when it involves mutants? In the many X-Men and Wolverine films we’ve seen, the mutants always seem to be at odds, with the human factor also posing a threat to peace between mutants and Homo sapiens. Each mutant conflict is almost always for the survival of humanity, but at times when we see Professor X and Magneto on opposing sides it’s for their respective ideology/

Now X-Men: Apocalypse will bring in a new fight to the mutants. A mutant fight club will be seen in the upcoming sequel according to director Bryan Singer. More on the story and images below.

New ‘Fantastic Four’ Behind-The-Scenes Problems Revealed

The Fantastic Four movie 2015 team

This weekend, Fantastic Four debuted to an abysmal $26.2 million at the box office. Of course Fox’s reboot on Marvel’s first family had almost everything going against it. Disappointing reviews (8% on Rotten Tomatoes as of this post), the marketing looked like it had no faith in its own film, and major conflicts behind-the-scenes were just some of issues that may have contributed to its inevitable downfall.

Of course it didn’t help that director Josh Trank tweeted, then deleted, that he had a “fantastic version” of the film, and that we’ll “probably never see it.” This led many to believe that the studio got in the way of Trank, who was coming off of Chronicle, his directorial debut. What sort of vision he had in store for Fantastic Four will probably stay a mystery, but based on many of the reviews, the final act makes the film feel disjointed, rendering the first two-thirds of it moot.

Now there is a new report that describes what sort of problems the film was having, and how Trank and the studio were at constant odds. More on this story below.

Fantastic Four Space

Many doubted the Josh Trank‘s Fantastic Four since plot and character details started hitting the web. Whether it’s the issue of Dr. Doom being an angry blogger, changes to the character’s powers, or trouble behind-the-scenes, it looked like the reboot was going to be a massive flop, not to mention the trailer lowered expectations. But a surprise advanced screening of the film may have proven doubters wrong, as the general audience who were lucky enough to see it had nothing but praise.

Now with just a few days left before the film’s release, 20th Century Fox is making one last push to convince you to see the reboot of Fantastic Four with an all new four-minute preview. The studio even got some help from a certain Merc with a Mouth. Check out the preview below.

Gambit Channing Tatum

Things weren’t looking good for the production of Gambit. It was reported that Channing Tatum may have had to drop out of the title role because he wanted to pursue other projects, namely a directorial debut. The actor had expressed interest in playing the Ragin’ Cajun back in 2013. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner then said that the actor had signed on, though we are learning that he was more attached to the project then confirmed for the role. Tatum even made a surprise appearance at the Fox panel at Comic-Con this year, leading many to believe that he was going to be Gambit.

But the news of Tatum departing from Gambit apparently has been greatly exaggerated, as it has been confirmed that the actor has officially signed a deal. It is also being reported that the deal may not have been in jeopardy as first thought.

More on the story below.
