| First Look: Jared Leto As The Joker In ‘Suicide Squad’
Today is the 75th anniversary of the Joker’s first appearance in the DC Comics universe (in Batman #1). To mark the occasion, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has revealed the first full, official look at Jared Leto as the Joker in his upcoming Warner Bros. film. Check out the image here below. Earlier this month, Ayer had released the first cast photo from Suicide Squad, with the actors together for a table read, though Leto was notably absent for the gathering. Soon after, the director posted a photo of Leto striking a pose in homage to the Joker cover for the classic DC Comics The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore. But the actor was not in full-on Joker mode at that point and his face was obscured by the camera he was holding.

| Batman’s Connection To David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad’
There has been much rumor and speculation that Batman is in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. Set in the universe that Warner Brothers is establishing, two of the Dark Knight’s most notorious villains, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Joker (Jared Leto) are in the film. So it is pretty easy to make the assumption that Batman is in the movie as well because of those connective threads. But no one has confirmed this, which only adds to the rumors. But one of the most interesting things about Suicide Squad is that the film won’t be just about Batman and The Joker, but also some of DC’s greatest villains. So of course of the biggest questions is, can a film about Batman’s greatest rogue survive without Batman in the film? Well, we probably won’t get an answer to that question, as a new rumor says that Batman is in Suicide Squad, but will be shown in a way never before seen in previous franchises.
