Fables Game The Wolf Among Us

A launch trailer has been released for The Wolf Among Us, the new episodic title from Telltale Games, developers of one of the best games of last year, The Walking Dead. Episode 1 of the series, titled “Faith,” will be released tomorrow.

The new game is based on the hit Bill Willingham comic series Fables, which takes all of our beloved fairy tale characters, and dumps them into a very dark and gritty and much, much more adult-aimed world, where they exist among humans. Just like The Walking Dead, the events of the game are set before the first issue of the comics, so you can still play if you’ve not yet read it…and then immediately go out and read it.

Fables The Wolf Among Us Image

Telltale Games’ point-and-click take on The Walking Dead was one of the best video games released last year, elevating the developer to another level. Before the much anticipated second season of that game arrives, Telltale has another exciting project on the way, titled The Wolf Among Us.

That may not sound familiar at first, but the game is an adaptation of another excellent comic, Bill Willingham‘s dark take on the world of fairy tales for Vertigo and DC, Fables.

A debut trailer for episode one of the game, titled “Faith,” has been released online, and you can check out how the game looks below.

The Walking Dead "400 Days"

Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead was easily one of the best games of 2012. If you’ve not yet played the five-episode point-and-click style game, you should either download it or pick up a physical copy of it immediately. You can thank us later.

After the first season came and went, a rumor started swirling that Telltale might just release some DLC for the game that would bridge the fifth and final episode of the first season to the upcoming second season.

With the arrival of E3 2013, this rumor has now become fact. A brand new Walking Dead DLC has been announced titled “400 Days,” and you can see the first trailer for it below now!

Telltale's The Walking Dead Image

Fans of Telltale Games’ 2012 game of the year candidate (and oft winner), The Walking Dead, may not have to wait all that long to get their hands on the upcoming season two of the episodic point-and-click zombie thriller.

It all started during an interview with Telltale CEO Dan Connors after the game was given the BAFTA Game Award for best story. Connors was quoted saying that they were aiming for fall of next year as a release date for season two. Not all that strange considering how long it takes to make games—even of the episodic downloadable variety—but late 2014 is still a painfully long wait for anxious fans.

Fortunately that was a bit of a whoopsie, and the company is aiming for a lot sooner than that.
