| ‘Captain America’ Casts Toby Jones To Play The Villain Zola
Joe Johnston isn’t settling for one villain in his upcoming Marvel Studios comic book adaptation, Captain America. The director has grabbed Toby Jones to play a second baddie, named Arnim Zola. Zola was an evil biochemist during World War II,who figured out a way to take everything about a person’s mental signature and basically burn them into a cloned brain. His work was sometimes funded by Red Skull, who was the first villain cast in Captain America, to be played by Hugo Weaving (Lord of the Rings, The Matrix). Zola’s desire to play God was put to use for none other than Adolf Hitler, whose brain patterns were imprinted onto what became Hate-Monger so that Hitler could live on in the event of his own death. He even burned himself into his own new body, which looks similar the body that Krang from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles walked around in, only more robotic.

| ‘Captain America’ & ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 4’ Add New Cast
Some major Summer blockbusters have been adding new faces to their cast over the course of the past week. Though the casting of Chris Evans in the role of Steve Rogers in Joe Johnston‘s The First Avenger: Captain America and the news that Joss Whedon would be directing The Avengers has without doubt stolen the spotlight, there was still work to be done. Hayley Atwell, who has starred in films like The Duchess and the TV mini-series remake of The Prisoner, has now been cast as the Captain America female lead, Peggy Carter. | Will Joss Whedon Also Be Rewriting ‘The Avengers’ AND ‘Captain America’?
It was pretty crazy to discover that geek god of all things fanboy Joss Whedon was going to direct Marvel Studios massive culmination of characters and storylines in The Avengers. But now it looks like Marvel might be ready to really hand Whedon the keys to the car. According to reports, not only will Whedon be directing The Avengers, but he’ll also be rewriting Zak Penn‘s script. This doesn’t mean that he’ll be throwing the entire script away and starting all over, but what he will be doing is going over everything, removing and replacing some things, and adding whatever he thinks might be crucial to the story or his style of directing.

| ‘Captain America’ Sidekick Bucky Barnes To Be Played By Sebastian Stan
Many names were reportedly in consideration for the role of Captain America in The First Avenger: Captain America. We were told of quite a few of them toward the end of February (Read: Want To Know Who’s In The Running To Become Captain America?), but ironically, it’s now two candidates that were not part of that list who have won the lead roles. It’s being reported that Sebastian Stan, who was at one time a possible choice to become the Captain himself, has been cast in the role of Bucky Barnes. He joins Chris Evans, who of course was recently offered and accepted the job to play the highly coveted superhero role.
