Each week, MK2Fac3 and Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull list, grab some issues and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of May 4, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. MK2Fac3 ISSUES  Blue Estate #2 (Image Comics – $2.99): When the first of this issue of this came out of nowhere to completely blow me away, I knew that I would be anticipating all following issues. The series centers around a bit of fumbling private detective that gets himself a bit over his head when he picks up a case concerning the Russian mafia. Blue Estate is extremely eccentric with a lot of mystery, but also with a perfect amount of humor to keep the series as one of the most unique books that I’ve ever read. We discussed the first issue on the podcast, but the creative force behind this comic is strong, and this Blue Estate promises to be a breakout series.

Each week, MK2Fac3 and Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull list, grab some issues and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 28, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. MK2Fac3 ISSUES  Batman, Incorporated #5 (DC Comics – $2.99): I know I say this a lot, but every week that Batman, Incorporated comes out is a week that I will list Batman, Incorporated as my top pick of the week. It’s an addiction, truly it is. I’ve read Grant Morrison’s Batman run multiple times, and the new addition keeps me salivating for more clues on the future for The Dark Knight. Each issue, is a romp through camp, complexity, and insanity, while giving nods to all eras of The Caped Crusader by showing us the Batmen of all nations. Yannick Paquette returns to the title to show us a tale of the other British Batman, and I could not be more excited. Each issue is a blast, and each issue is my favorite issue of the series. Yes, if you’re wondering, I’m both a Morrison and Batman fanboy. And this book makes me proud to be one.

Each week, MK2Fac3 and Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull list, grab some issues and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 13, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. MK2Fac3 ISSUES  The Infinite Vacation #2 (Image Comics – $3.50) – When the first issue of Infinite Vacation came out in January, I was elated with how good the comic was. Nick Spencer continued his reign over comics with another incredibly exciting creator-owned book published by Image. The concept behind the book is that a mobile app gives people the ability to travel throughout the multiverse. The concept of a multiverse is used in many different comics and publishers where there are separate universes with the same characters dealing with different circumstances. But very rarely has the concept of the multiverse been applied to non-superhero characters, but Infinite Vacation does just that. The series has unfortunately met a strong delay with the second issue coming out in April after the first issue came out in January, but the first issue sat with me so strongly, that I’m still excited about this follow-up. So, here’s hoping that the second keeps and amps up the excitement.

So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull list, grab some issues and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 6, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. MK2Fac3 ISSUES  Secret Six #32 (DC Comics – $2.99) – Secret Six is easily one of my favorite ongoing series, so don’t be surprised when you see this book on my list every month. Not enough people read this book, and that’s a crime. It’s one of the most consistently awesome comics to come out on a regular basis, and this current storyline is no exception. In this second issue of the current story arc, writer Gail Simone takes the Secret Six into Hell to solve one of the most exciting story lines that was set up at the very beginning of the series. This series continues to be a “can’t miss,” so don’t miss it!
Chew #18 (Image Comics – $2.99) – Chew is another one of those books that you don’t want to miss out on. I’ve read this series from the beginning, and although you need to read the entire series, each issue does have a catch-up prologue to explain what the series is about. It’s a really quirky title that’s a blast to read every month with great writing and art. It never disappoints, and with the recent announcement that Showtime will be adapting the series to a television show, you should really get in when you can.
