| Spy Image Of Peter Sarsgaard In ‘Green Lantern’ May Haunt Your Dreams
Sky Showbiz has gotten their hands on the first peek at Peter Sarsgaard on the set of the upcoming DC Comics adaptation, Green Lantern. Sarsgaard will be playing Hector Hammond, a pathologist who stumbles upon some pieces of a meteor that severely deform his head, but give him unbelievable telekinetic powers (click image above to see Spanish Hector Hammond!). He eventually becomes one of the primary enemies to the Green Lantern. He’s also the son of Senator Hammond (played by Tim Robbins), who has never really seen eye-to-eye with his son. Use your mind-bullets to click on over to the other side and check out this first image of Peter Sarsgaard on the set of Green Lantern!

| Green Lantern’s Suit To Be Completely CGI In Upcoming Film As it’s been previously reported, Warner Bros. has started production on a feature-length film adaptation of DC Comics’ Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds cast as Hal Jordan.
What you don’t know is we won’t be getting any pictures of him in full costume anytime soon — or technically ever, according to /Film Editor Peter Sciretta, who states that he has three independent sources confirming that the GL suit will be mostly computer generated. From /Film: The suit that Ryan wears on set is a grey tracking motion/performance capture suit with led lights. I’ve heard that Ryan Reynolds has been joking on set that Warner Bros is going to make him into a Na’vi when the final cut is released. His joke, not mine. The Green Lantern suit you will see in the final film will be almost entirely created using computers.

| Geek Peek: Set Photos From ‘Green Lantern’ & ‘The Thing’ Surface |
 |

Nothing to go dancing around crazy-giddy-happy about, but a couple of images from some exciting upcoming movies that are in the beginning stages of production have been released online. The first comes from Comic Book Movie, who have gotten their hands on a sneaky photograph from the set of Green Lantern. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, a pilot who discovers a space craft that has crashed and finds himself presented with a special ring, making him the newest member of a group known as the Green Lanterns. The movie also stars Blake Lively as Jordan’s boss and eventual love interest, Mark Strong as the evil villain Sinestro, Peter Sarsgaard as Dr. Hector Hammond, and Tim Robbins, who will play the Senator father of Hammond. The set image actually shows what is assumed (as you can plainly see) to be the aforementioned space craft that crashes on Earth and sets all of the events of the movie into motion. Hum a little tune to yourself and frolic over to the other side to check out these two first peeks at these movies.

By Vactor

Green Lantern fans have a lot to be happy about right now. Last year saw the release of Green Lantern: First Flight — an animated retelling of Hal Jordan’s first days as a Green Lantern; Blackest Night and the Green Lantern comics are on fire; there’s an upcoming 3D live-action film starring Ryan Reynolds currently filming, and now it looks like there may be another Green Lantern animated film in the works.
Comics Continuum is reporting that Warner Brothers Animation is making another Green Lantern direct-to-DVD animated film that will center around the origins of the Green Lantern Corps, along with the very first ring wielders. Although Warner Brothers has not yet given any type of official confirmation, I suspect it’s only a matter of time before they do. At the Emerald City Comic-Con last weekend, DC Comics’ Geoff Johns hinted at a Green Lantern animated series, though its unclear whether this is the one he was referring to.

| Tim Robbins Joins The Cast Of DC Comics’ ‘The Green Lantern’
Back in December of 2008, there was a fun little rumor that Tim Robbins would be showing up in Iron Man 2 as Tony Stark’s father, but sadly that was just not to be. Now comes word that Robbins has actually been cast in another fatherly comic book movie role; the actor will be playing Senator Hammond in The Green Lantern. The Senator is the father of Peter Sarsgaard‘s Dr. Hector Hammond character, a pathologist who gains psychic and telepathic abilities from a meteor and eventually becomes a villain in the story. The father and son duo have always had issues seeing eye-to-eye.
